Job Description SummaryGE Aerospace Engine Services is a leading provider of aviation engine repair and maintenance services for commercial and military customers.The Component Repair Operations Business Leader will lead operations on site at Strother Field Kansas. This role is responsible for planning and executing the activities to support engine overhauls of CF34-8, CF34-10, CFM56, PP20, T700, CT7, YT706, F110, and F118 engine models. The role has 10+ direct reports with 170+ mechanics, machinists, and technicians across 2 shifts.The leader must be capable of collaborating with cross-functional team members to address issues that affect compliance, safety, quality, delivery, and cost.Job DescriptionEssential ResponsibilitiesSafetyAct as safety ambassador and champion a strong safety culture.Monitor and ensure compliance with safety policies and proceduresPromote safe work practices and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).CommunicationFoster clear and respectful communication among team members and other departmentsEstablish effective communication channels with key stakeholders.Demonstrate strong negotiating and influencing skills.Leadership, Strategy, & ExecutionLead the component repair team to achieve targets for safety, quality, delivery, and costDevelop and implement strategies to optimize resource utilization and policy formulationFoster a positive working environment that encourages continuous improvement and employee empowerment.Review and enforce compliance with standard operating procedures company policiesMentor and coach team members to enhance their technical skills and problem-solving abilitiesProactively identify and implement process improvements.Stay abreast of industry trends, standards, and best practices in engine maintenance and repair.Implement lean as an operating system using the principles of FLIGHT DECK.FinancialConduct regular reviews of expenses and plan capacity accordingly.Ensure compliant asset management and maintain appropriate inventory.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in the Aviation industryKnowledge of machining and inspection methods related to aerospace engine repairsStrong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skillsDesired CharacteristicsHumble, transparent, and motivated individual with a focus on continuous learning.?Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.Experience working in a unionized environmentProficiency in ERP SAP Oasis?Strong project management skills.This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
