ABOUT THE ROLE We currently have a great job opportunity for an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join our Centralia Mine team. Reporting directly to the Mine Supervisor, at the Compliance Heavy Equipment Operator you are responsible for executing the Mine compliance reclamation plan put forth by Engineering, including site prep, construction and repairing of slopes, ditches, roads
This is an IUOE union position and is deemed safety-sensitive. The base hourly rate for this position is $36.37. Work schedule 4 days per week / 10 hrs per day.
WHAT YOU WILL DO Operate Dozer, Excavator, and Articulation Haul truck safely in Reclamation mine conditions
Operate equipment in adverse weather conditions
Inspects equipment for possible repair and safety check prior to beginning each shift and at the end of each shift
Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written)
Self-motivated, team-player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations and act courteously/respectfully of others
Troubleshoot and problem-solve situations/problems (material quality, equipment operation/repair, compliance issues, etc.)
Monitor and discuss Compliance, and production-related issues with co-workers, supervisor, and Engineering
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU (Equivalent education and/or experience may be substituted for qualifications)
Prior experience with mining and/or reclamation work
Prior experience with Heavy machinery
Ability to regularly and safely mount and dismount Equipment
Must possess good visual acuity (corrected or uncorrected)
Ability to understand and follow mine safety and mine production policies and procedures
Knowledge heavy equipment operations
Ability to work in inclement weather
Able to work a 4/10 schedule
Able to constantly use good eye/hand/foot coordination
Must be able to attend job reliably
Nice to Have: Equipment Operator experience (Scraper, Grader, Haul truck, etc.) is beneficial
Previous mining experience
Managing/pumping water
Basic mechanical understanding
