The University of Nevada, Reno Extension is recruiting for a Community Based Instructor 4 for Northeastern Clark County. The Community Based Instructor 4 coordinates operational and logistical needs related to the 4-H program in the assigned geographical and topic areas, including keeping records and inputting data into various online systems. The position is located in Logandale, Nevada and will report to the Extension Officer in that area.
This position will work closely with community partners and volunteers, provide volunteer training and oversight, create 4-H clubs and provide ongoing support and build the overall capacity to meet community needs and county priorities. This position may supervise program staff (county funded and grant funded), assists with hiring, training, coaching, evaluation and discipline. This position takes care of the logistics needed for program implementation, including day and overnight camps (scheduling meeting rooms, creating schedules, following the established class coordination and event planning procedures, coordinating with community partners and other Extension staff). ALL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS HAVE BEEN WAIVED FOR THIS POSITION UNTIL JUNE 30TH, 2024. Required Qualifications This position requires graduation from high school or equivalent education and four (4) years of relevant work experience in areas such as agriculture, horticulture, community development, health and nutrition, human and family development, and natural resources in urban and rural areas; OR An equivalent combination of education and experience as described above A valid Class "C" Nevada driver's license or higher operator's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.

In classified service, salary is in Grade and Step. The Step is determined based on the Nevada Administrative Code. Salary placement above a Step 01 at initial appointment is determined based on the recruitment, the candidate's qualifications, internal equity and budgets. A request to accelerate salary must be approved by Human Resources and abide by the Nevada Administrative Code.
