Community Engagement Coord Location Boston, MA (West End area) : Community Engagement Coord - (3267866) The Community Engagement Coordinator will work on behalf of the MGH Sexual Health Clinic and its current community partners (MAPS, Boston Glass, BAGLY) to promote and expand this coalition's clinical services and other programs. This coalition seeks to better bridge the gap between diverse underserved populations and the welcoming/ inclusive sexual healthcare services they deserve. The Coordinator will support this outreach work through a variety of hospital and community initiatives. As liaison between the SHC and greater community, the Coordinator will listen to assess population needs in order to further inform and foster new strategic, meaningful, and lasting community partnerships.

The Community Engagement Coordinator will also help strengthen and establish connections to other clinics or public health efforts (e.g., treatment of hepatitis C infection, substance use disorder treatment, hormone therapy for gender affirmation) to which MGH Sexual Health Clinic patients may require linkage
The Community Engagement Coordinator will serve as a liaison with new and existing community partners; create an engaging, factual, and welcoming presence for the MGH Sexual Health Clinic on social media and the internet; and identify and represent the clinic at community informational events. The Community Engagement Coordinator works with the supervision of the Sexual Health Clinic's Medical Director and Project Manager within the MGH Division of Infectious Diseases. The incumbent must be able to work independently and collaboratively and be comfortable managing multiple tasks and projects. The incumbent will work with a large heterogenous population both within and outside the hospital. As such, exceptional interpersonal and communication skills are of primary importance. The Community Engagement Coordinator is a vital member of the Sexual Health Clinic and must have a desire to continuously identify and recommend ways which allow the work of the Sexual Health Clinic to grow in scope, efficiency, inclusivity, and impact in the future.
Community outreach and planning: In collaboration and in concert with the Sexual Health Clinic's community engagement strategy, help develop a strategic plan focused on how to listen, learn and work with residents of Boston. Determine clear goals and outcomes and collaborate with MGB entities. Attend and facilitate Community Advisory Board meetings. Assure continuous and intentional outreach to and active engagement of underrepresented communities in Boston, particularly in communities of color and among sexual and gender minority groups. Serve as a point person/liaison for community and cultural programmatic queries, responding and triaging appropriately for the Sexual Health Clinic. Support existing community coalitions, community-based organizations and current partners' activities and programs that support the Office's overall strategic plan. This will include attending events and meetings; helping collect data, possibly assisting with grant writing; and other technical assistance. Give public presentations about the work as requested. Marketing and communications: Collaborate with MGH Public Affairs, Marketing and Community Health, as well as public agencies, community programs and other institutions and businesses to: o Support and enhance the Sexual Health Clinic's presence in the community via cultural or healthcare-related events, marketing campaigns and speaking engagements. o Develop collaborative opportunities between MGH, the community, community leaders and elected officials. Contribute content to the Sexual Health Clinic's social media channels, e-newsletters and program and event announcements that promote our presence and further our equity and community health mission in alignment with our mission, Support with disseminating all related communications. Management of activities to advance MGH's community presence: Plan and coordinate events. Assist in the development of sexual health-related education to communities in Boston and beyond. Internal committees and meetings: Work with the Sexual Health Clinic's Leadership Team to develop strong and diverse community-based advisory boards for all areas of the work. Recruit and cultivate communities of MGH staff interested in grassroots efforts sponsored by the Sexual Health Clinic and its community partners. Develop strong and positive working relationships and partnerships with key community leaders. Undertake special projects to advance the Clinic's efforts as needed. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to work autonomously. Ability to set priorities and vision, manage multiple tasks and projects, and set and meet deadlines. Strong written and oral communications skills with the ability to present information in an engaging, understandable manner. Strong knowledge of and passion for developing diverse, equitable and inclusive healthcare access and delivery methods within a healthcare environment. Demonstrate an ability to target and engage with key demographic - in this case the LGBTQIA+ populations of all ages; and communities of color. Demonstrated understanding of populations affected by critical conditions (e.g. community violence, substance use disorders, domestic violence). Ability to work well with staff across and at all levels within the organization. Understanding of social media marketing, public relations and community engagement. Experience with event planning is preferred. Fluency in languages other than English is preferred. EDUCATION:

Minimum of 2 years of related experience working with LGBTQIA+ communities preferred.
