Required Qualifications:

Specialist experience. Experience creating strong, engaging content, including impact writing and storytelling skills. Excellent research, organizational, and time management skills. Preferred Qualifications:
Strong creative skills. Experience working with individuals from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Master's degree in Communications, Journalism, or Marketing. At least two years of after-college experience in a communications-related field, including the use of digital media. Have two consecutive years managing business or organization social media profiles within the past three years. Leadership experience in marketing and communications Demonstrated/documented project management experience, managing multiple projects. Ability to create, understand, and monitor success through KPIs; well-versed in analytics and proven ability to enhance awareness of key product features. An ability to fact-check long-form content pieces. Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously. Experience as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment. Familiarity with AP Style. Familiarity with Meltwater, Cision, Agility, or other media monitoring platforms. Familiarity with Basecamp, Asana, Trello, or other project management platforms. Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and Google Suite. Experience working with print and marketing services vendors. General Statement of Responsibilities:

Boynton Health at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities seeks a Communications Specialist with strong content creation, creative writing, social media management, and project management skills. This position plays an important role in supporting the on-campus health clinic and programs. This is a benefits-eligible interim (temporary) position, with an end date to be determined. We are searching for a driven, detail-oriented content creator to produce high-quality outputs for Boynton Health. The content creator will update existing material, generate novel work, and identify new ways to reach our target audience. This role will also contribute to the shaping of our stylistic and editorial guidelines.

The Communications Specialist is part of a marketing and communications team that includes a Senior Graphic Designer, Creative Multimedia Manager, and Communications and Marketing Director.
Compensation: $52,332.80-$62,412.48, depending upon experience and qualifications

Detailed Job Responsibilities:
Impact Writing, Editing, and Storytelling - 40%:
Write, review, edit, and update content for Boynton Health emails, social media, website/webpages, blogs, marketing materials, digital displays, and similar platforms. Lead the creation of authentic, content-rich, and multimedia storytelling—including that which is grounded in perspectives and experiences of communities historically underserved and marginalized, as well as explaining the work of Boynton Health, and University of Minnesota. Conduct research and interviews to learn more about current trends, developments, and perceptions about the subject matter, and then contextualize your findings. Draft organizational statements, emails, and publications advancing Boynton Health's point of view using the brand's voice and tone. Oversee the creation and implementation of the monthly content calendar, including content pillars and social media calendar. Utilize Search Engine Optimization (SEO) methods to increase site traffic. Ensure alignment and usage of Boynton Health's brand guidelines and messaging across external communications. Collaborate with internal departments to establish campaign objectives, complete tasks, and identify and solve problems. Suggest new ways to promote Boynton Health's offerings and services to reach target audiences. Social Media Management - 50%:
Manage Boynton Health's social media platforms, including secondary accounts. Develop and execute social media campaigns to boost awareness of Boynton Health, its eleven clinics and one pharmacy, health promotions, and all locations on the Twin Cities campus. Use social media to engage target audiences, respond to questions or complaints, and promote Boynton Health's initiatives. Monitor social media and company website metrics. Track metrics using Insights, Sprout Social, and other data-based platforms. Create analytic performance data summaries quarterly and annual reports. Create actionable plans to both grow and maintain followers and engagement through popular social media platforms such as X, Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, YouTube, Spotify, TikTok and LinkedIn. Set key performance indicators (KPIs) for social media campaigns, such as targets for a certain number of shares or likes, and measure a campaign's performance against the KPIs. Responsible for implementing Boynton's social media program on all relevant platforms that align with target audiences' usage. Develop and maintain a social media policy, leading the development of outreach and engagement initiatives, including identifying organizational objectives, delegating responsibilities, and overseeing execution. Establish a presence and build a reputation for Boynton as a thought leader in the field of public health and a reliable, credible source of health information; maintain a monthly follower rate increase. Engage with audiences across social media channels to build a broad following; maintain a consistent engagement rate increase. Monitor social media trends, advising and making recommendations on improving Boynton's social media presence and aligning with overall digital content strategy. Evaluate new social media channels for the potential to expand Boynton's online presence, better promote organization's services and initiatives, and further engage audiences. Lead a social media team, directing them in social media posts and engagement.

Event Support - 5%:
Support outreach plans to support attendance at Boynton-sponsored events. Serve as the spokesperson for Boynton Health for orientation, tabling, and other events.
Other - 5%:
