Job descriptionThe MRN Agency is looking for a full-time Communications Specialist with 3+ years in PR/pitching as well as long-form and short-form copywriting experience. The ideal candidate should have excellent writing and communication skills, as well as public relations experience contacting & pitching local and national media outlets. Candidates should also have experience supporting corporate clients to help drive their thought leadership, executive positioning, thought leadership, speaking engagements and reputation management.

Qualifications:

BA/BS; 3+ years PR or marketing agency experience or relevant experience

Superb ability to create and execute social, PR, and COMMS strategiesExperience crafting social posts, thought leadership content, short & long-form editorials, speeches, panel questions, etc.Experience pitching media coverage, speakerships, editorials, quotes, etc.Excellent presentation and strategic planning skillsSuperior written/oral communication skillsExcellent ability to copyeditEditorial contacts preferred

Responsibilities:Provide strategic guidance to the Communications Team, recognizing business opportunities and areas for improvement, as well as developing and executing strategies for clientsAct as client contact; continually fostering client-agency relationships to build trust and become a valuable resource to the clientPlan and run media relations programs; identify media contacts in business outlets, build relationships, and secure coverage.Continually build understanding and knowledge of client's business and competitive environments; apply this information in preparing and presenting strategically focused social media recommendations and posts.Demonstrate ability to effectively develop a full range of written materials, including press releases, byline articles, speeches, client correspondence, and reportsPost on clients' behalf on social media, mimicking their digital voiceWrite long and short-form submissions to awards, press pitches, etc.

This is a full-time position that includes medical insurance contribution, paid sick & holiday time, and unlimited PTO. It is a non-remote, office-based position. The office is in Universal City, CA - the candidate must commute to work daily. No relocation stipend offered. Due to industry type, COVID-19 Vaccine eligibility documentation will be provided.

Salary Range: $55,000 - $62,000
