CRC Communications Coordinator
The CRC Communications Coordinator position will provide coordination and support to the following state cultural commissions located with the Indiana Civil Rights Commission:
The Indiana Commission for Women (ICW) seeks to understand the needs of Indiana women and their families by working to remove barriers that hinder women's participation by increasing awareness of the state of women and their families and the issues they face.
The Indiana Commission on the Social Status of Black Males (ICSSBM) studies the social conditions of the state's Black males studies the social conditions of the state's black male population, develops strategies to remedy or assist in improve the educational, social, economic, employment, and other circumstances for Hoosiers.
The Indiana Commission on Hispanic and Latino Affairs (ICHLA) is a non-partisan state agency that identifies, measures, and reviews programs, legislation, and researches challenges and opportunities affecting the Hispanic/Latino community.
The Indiana Native American Indian Affairs Commission (INAIAC) ultimately seeks to bring the Native American community together, help identify and provide opportunities to the Native American people, and enhance social, cultural, community and economic development in Indiana.
Position duties include the following:
1. Social media: content creation; graphics; social listening
2. Website content management
3. Meeting minutes and notices
4. Event coordination: administrative; photography; Black Barbershop Health Initiative
5. Outreach assistance and event coordination
6. Meeting setup/coordination: Subcommittee meetings-coordination and note-taking
7. Indiana Commission for Women Torchbearer Awards
8. Other tasks as assigned
Project-based duties:
1. Partnership databases for: Indiana Commission on Hispanic/Latino Affairs partner organizations; license plate recipient database for Indiana Native American Indian Affairs Commission; Indiana Commission for Women women's organizations and programs
2. Grant program coordination for the Indiana Commission on Hispanic/Latino Affairs grants
3. Organization of shared drive
4. Web projects for the Indiana Commission on Hispanic/Latino Affairs resources page
5. Indiana Native American Indian Affairs Commission License plate marketing campaign
Important Keys:
Position may have opportunity to work remote or hybrid once the position/contractor have been fully established
A writing sample must be included with candidate submission
A portfolio of illustrations or design for social media/website must be included with candidate submission
Required Skills
Social Media Platform experience. Required
Prior communications experience including social media and website content. Required
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Required
Extreme attention to detail, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, strong analytical skills, able to create written documents and reports. Required
Prior experience with meeting/event coordination, meeting minute and note-taking record keeping. Required
Spanish fluency (multi-lingual) Highly desired
