Estimator-Commercial ConstructionOne of the top full-service General Contractors in the DMV market is seeking an Estimator that is well versed in all trades of Commercial Construction. The right candidate that applies for this position will have the opportunity to not only grow in their career but work with a fantastic team!Estimator Responsibilities:Estimators are responsible for developing accurate and complete job estimates.The Estimator identifies project labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, written specifications and related documents.Conducts site visits and attends pre-bid meetings to understand the project scope.Conducts review and take-off of blueprints.Gathers subcontractor pricing and conducts scope review.Evaluate subcontractor bids to bid documents and plans to ensure that the full scope of work was considered.Calculates costs of subcontract labor, general conditions, and materials.Collaborates with the client to help them achieve their project cost budget through consideration of plan details, alternate material/finishes and building methods.Estimator Qualifications:Must possess a working knowledge of commercial construction documentation and pricing; able to read plans and specifications and translate them into estimatesBS/BA in Construction Management, Engineering or a related field preferred2+ years of experience estimating Commercial Construction projects is required1+ years of experience estimating all trades of Commercial projects is requiredNeeds full comprehension of drawingsProficient with computers, tablets and smartphones, including typing skillsWillingness to work necessary hours to ensure all project estimating needs are being metExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExperience with RFIs, Change orders, is highly preferredEstimator Benefits:Competitive compensation package (base + annual bonus up to $15,000)Full Medical, Dental, Vision, Long-Term Disability, 401K with generous company match, competitive PTO, FSA7 paid HolidaysLow turnover!
