Providence is calling a Coding Quality Educator who will: Assist with the day-to-day operations of the PCN Coding Integrity Team and regional coding teams
Assist with new employee training and ongoing department education
Assist with the identification, development and delivery of new and ongoing provider education and training related to coding and clinical documentation
Conduct independent and collaborative provider coding reviews according to the coding integrity work plan and develops appropriate documentation to support coding review work performed
Collaborate with various departments e.g., Physician Network Operations, Revenue Cycle, Compliance, Practice Operations, and other key stakeholders necessary to develop and implement training curriculum for prioritized opportunities in assigned departments
Lead provider training
Analyze and distribute key performance metric
Develop action plans for improvement in collaboration with the provider leadership
Providence welcomes 100% remote work to residents who currently reside in the following State: Texas Required qualifications for this position include: 4+ years of experience with professional fee inpatient, surgical, outpatient coding, E/M, auditing and other related work
4+ years of experience conducting medical coding provider audits and quality performance measures
4+ years of experience preparing audit reports with recommendations
4+ years of experience providing provider education and feedback to facilitate improvement in documentation and coding
National Certification from American Academy of Professional Coders (Vendor Managed) -OR- National Certification from American Health Information Management Association
Strong experience in Excel (e.g., pivot tables), database, e-mail, and Internet applications on a PC in a Windows environment
Preferred qualifications for this position include: Associate Degree in Healthcare related field of study
Bachelor's Degree in Management, Health Information Technology or another related field of study
5+ years of experience in coding for multispecialty practice
2+ years of experience in professional fee billing methodologies
Experience with IDX, Allscripts, Advanced Web, Meditech
Experience with project management
