Responsibilities
• Assist general education teacher in their daily teaching duties• Develop and maintain areas of interest in general education classrooms• Provide one-on-one tutoring for eligible students• Assist with classroom management and organizing instructional materials• Assist students with online learning• Provide instructional services under the direct supervision of the teacher• Participate in project planning and set up• Follow student behavior plans to focus on academic learning• Attend staff meetings, training sessions, parent conferences, and special meetings• Adhere to confidentiality and incorporate Oneida Language into the classroom• Work cooperatively with school personnel, parents, and community members
Requirements
• Knowledge of social, physical, and mental development of special needs children• Skill in classroom management, directing activities, and resolving conflicts• Ability to make solid decisions and exercise independent judgment• Ability to work independently, meet strict timelines, and communicate effectively• Certification in First Aid and CPR, reporting Child Abuse and Neglect• Adherence to confidentiality, drug-free workplace policy, and background security check• Willingness and ability to obtain additional education and training• Minimum qualifications: Associate degree in Education, Human Services or related fields• Experience in a team-teaching environment and working with school-aged students
