We are looking for a CNC Machinist (day shift) to join our parts manufacturing site in Bristol, Rhode Island. You will be responsible for producing machined parts through a variety of equipment and supplies.
Accountabilities include: • Plans and delivers machining through work orders, engineering plans, materials, specifications, drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances
• Programs machinery, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs
• Performs all machine shop operations including setup, tools, fixtures and work pieces
• Performs inspection of machined products, and documents results in material requirements planning software
• Collaborates with engineering and quality staff to improve machining and inspection operations.
The successful candidate must have demonstratable experience with CNC setup and programming parts in CAM. As well as demonstratable experience with various shop equipment and machines including water jet, milling, drilling, de-burring etc. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with the ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks with minimal supervision; have good mechanical aptitude, possess excellent communication skills (written and verbal). Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus, and demonstrable experience of applying best practice safety and continuous improvement methods and systems is required.
