Join our Technology Delivery Services (TDS) team, a security-focused department within our Information Technology (IT) division. TDS encompasses various teams, including Information Security, Planning, Application Development, HR & Payroll Development, Infrastructure, and Client Services, fostering an environment of innovation and support.
Position Summary:
Are you ready to make a difference in the world of cloud technology? We're seeking a motivated Cloud Operations Specialist to join our growing UCOP Cloud Solutions team. In this role, you'll be instrumental in supporting and optimizing applications within AWS, collaborating with cross-functional teams to migrate critical on-premise applications to the cloud. Additionally, you'll help develop AWS expertise within our organization and contribute to shaping our cloud services roadmap.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee system performance, maintenance, and capacity planning efforts across UCOP systems.
Lead initiatives to design or modify complex systems and processes, ensuring scalability, stability, efficiency, and security.
Utilize excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders, facilitating clear communication and knowledge sharing.
Stay abreast of industry best practices and policies, ensuring adherence to security standards across all layers of the application stack.
Experience:
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 8 years of experience in a related IT role.
Skills and Abilities:
Required Qualifications:
Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services, including EC2, security groups, S3, and IAM.
Advanced knowledge of RedHat Linux OS administration and patch management.
Ability to learn new technical skills quickly and communicate recommendations effectively.
Strong understanding of business and process analysis functions.
Demonstrated ability to work independently or collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with infrastructure as code (IAC) tools such as Terreform.
Familiarity with monitoring tools like Datadog and configuration management tools like Puppet Enterprise or Ansible.

Salary Range: $140,000 - $163,000 (Full Range: $105,500 - $200,700)
