About the Role:

We are seeking a talented and highly motivated individual to join our growing Data & Analytics team and lead the migration of our data warehouse from on-premise SQL Server to AWS. This role will support both the on-site and virtual businesses. This is a crucial role that will play a key part in modernizing our health data infrastructure, unlocking powerful insights, and ultimately transforming healthcare delivery. You will be responsible for not only leading the migration but also building and maintaining robust data pipelines and infrastructure on the cloud platform.

We are seeking a dedicated individual for a full-time exempt position with outstanding benefits. This role offers to be fully remote or a hybrid work arrangement if you are near Austin Texas. Medici Headquarters is located in the Southwest area of Austin, TX.

Key Responsibilities
Data Warehouse Migration:
Lead the migration of our on-premise SQL Server data warehouse to a suitable AWS solution (e.g., Redshift, Athena). Design and implement efficient data pipelines for secure and reliable data movement and transformation.
Ensure data quality and consistency throughout the migration process.
Optimize the migrated data warehouse for performance, scalability, and compliance with healthcare data regulations.
Document the migration process and best practices for future reference.
Cloud Data Engineering:
Design, develop, and maintain scalable and secure data pipelines on AWS.
Extract, transform, and load data from various healthcare sources (e.g., EHRs, claims data, wearables,lab data, Health Risk Assessments) into the data warehouse.
Implement data quality checks, monitoring systems, and data governance practices.
Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand their needs and build data products that drive insights.
Automate data pipelines and workflows using tools like Airflow, Luigi, or Prefect.
Stay up-to-date on the latest cloud data technologies and best practices in the HealthTech space.
Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field (Master's preferred).
5+ years of experience as a Cloud Data Engineer or similar role.
Proven experience migrating data warehouses from on-premise to cloud platforms (preferably AWS).
Strong experience with SQL Server and relational databases.
Expertise in AWS cloud services relevant to healthcare, including Redshift, Athena, S3, Glue, Lambda, and IAM.
Experience with data pipeline tools like Apache Airflow, Luigi, or Prefect.
Excellent understanding of data quality principles and practices, especially in healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Bonus Points:
Experience with data modeling and data warehousing in the healthcare domain.
Experience with distributed computing frameworks like Spark or Hadoop.
Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience with DevOps practices.

$95,000 - $110,000 a year

We offer a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) retirement savings plan with company match, and paid time off. Salary range: $95,000 - $110,000 per year. We are open to discussing compensation during the interview process.
