The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Department of Med - Preventive Medicine, is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator II. This position is located in Dothan, Alabama.
The Clinical Research Coordinator II will work with the All of Us Project. All of Us is a nationwide research program administered by the National Institutes of Health to advance individualized prevention, treatment, and care for people of all backgrounds. At UAB, All of Us is a large, multi-site project in collaboration with the Department of Genetics, the Division of Preventive Medicine, and the School of Medicine. Dr. Vickers has requested the Division of Preventive Medicine to manage recruitment and specimen collection for the All of Us project. This is a $60 million, five-year project. The All of Us Research Program aims to enable discoveries that will improve overall health by encouraging the public to take an active role in steering the future of health research. The national All of Us recruitment goal is 1 million people. Alabamians age 19 or older, regardless of health status, are eligible to enroll in the program. Participants are asked to share different types of health and lifestyle information, including through online surveys and electronic health records (EHRs), which will continue to be collected over the course of the program. At different times over the coming months and years, some participants will be asked to visit a local partner site to provide blood and urine samples and to have basic physical measurements taken, such as height and weight. To ensure that the program gathers information from all types of people, especially those who have been underrepresented in research, not everyone will be asked to give physical measurements and samples. This position's primary responsibilities will include daily management of staff, engaging with community partners to share the program and secure event locations, and coordinating logistics of the local recruitment clinic.
General Responsibilities
* To serve as a liaison with medical staff, University Departments, ancillary departments and/or satellite facilities.
* To organize patient enrollment planning.
* To conduct quality assurance activities.
* To compile and analyze data.
* To develop and implement procedures, maintain records, track progress, and conduct quality assurance on data collected.
* To serve as a mentor to junior staff, including student assistants.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
* Manages and mentors local staff and manages the day-to-day activities of the local recruitment clinic.
* Engages and nurtures community partnerships.
* Secures partners and locations for pop-up recruitment clinics.
* Achievies recruitment goals.
* Coordinates event marketing and logistics efforts between university communications and the partners.
* Screens participants independently and provide oversight and training to study team members who screen participants.
* Maintains participant-level documentation for minimal risk studies, or other studies under direction.
* Assists with addressing and correcting findings from study monitoring and study audit visits.
* Collects, prepares, or processes adverse event information under supervision. May conduct study visits independently.
* Serves as a unit/departmental resource and trains others regarding preparation and conduct of study visits, creation of SOPs, and implementation of operational plans.
* Provides input for AE reports.
* Serves as a resource to junior staff as well as the unit, department, or division staff with regard to an institution and sponsor-specific prompt reporting requirements (timelines and forms).
* Liaises with contact for final determination of safety event outcome.
* Encourages and supports colleagues in completing project work.
* Assists research colleagues in identifying efficiencies and improving processes. May serve as a mentor to other staff.
* Maintains UAB and project-specific training requirements.
* Collects information to determine appropriate feasibility, recruitment, and retention strategies.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
Annual Salary Range: $50,050 - $81,330
Bachelor's degree in a related field and three (3) years of related experience required. Work experience may substitute for education requirement.

* Bachelor's in public health, science, research, or any healthcare-related field.
* Strong management skills and experience.
* Community engagement/outreach skills.
* Must be familiar with working in a research setting dealing with research participants.
