Interpath Laboratory is accepting candidates who are ready to join a highly engaged team with a creative and experienced supervisor. Qualified candidates will have earned a Bachelors Degree in a physical, chemical, or biological science discipline. We will provide on the job training for the committed person. This is a great stepping stone opportunity to become ASCP licensed as a Medical Laboratory Scientist without having to pursue additional education. Essential Functions: Ensures accurate and timely testing of specimens. Pipettes a large volume of samples on a daily basis on a team rotation basis. Assists MT's and MLT's in performing tests within the areas of Molecular and Immunology. Assists in operating and trouble-shooting complex automated laboratory equipment, electronic equipment, computer software, and precision instruments. Participates in some aspects of proficiency testing. Understands and adheres to HIPAA policies, procedures and regulations to assure patient confidentiality. Actively participates in departmental quality assurance monitoring. Follows all established improved quality (I.Q.) protocols. Follows established safety protocols. Understands and adhere to HIPAA policies, procedures and regulations to assure patient confidentiality. Performs other work related duties as the needs of the team evolve.
