The Lionel Hampton School of Music at the University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho invites applications for a non-tenure track Clinical Assistant Professor of Music Education & Director of Orchestral Activities, a full-time appointment beginning August 2024. Responsibilities include teaching courses in music education, directing the Orchestra, and teaching other courses to be determined by departmental needs and/or applicant's qualifications. This faculty member will also actively recruit and retain students and participate in Lionel Hampton School of Music committees and events.Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in music;Experience teaching at the elementary, secondary, or collegiate levels;Experience conducting an orchestra. Preferred Qualifications: Doctoral degree in music;Record of success teaching music education at the collegiate level, particularly elementary methods;Record of success in conducting an orchestra at the collegiate level;Record of success organizing community engagement and outreach programming;Ability to teach other courses depending on the applicant's qualifications and departmental needs;Demonstrated ability to recruit and retain students;Ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with regional music educators;Strong communication and interpersonal skills with flexible attitude and ability to work collaboratively.
