Position Overview:
As a Clinical Documentation Improvement Auditor Educator, you'll play a vital role in enhancing the quality, completeness, and accuracy of medical record documentation across our healthcare system. Through thorough audit investigation, education initiatives, and data analysis, you'll drive improvements that positively impact patient care outcomes. Reporting to the CDI Quality/Education Manager, you'll collaborate closely with our dedicated team to ensure that our documentation practices meet the highest standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing required; Master's degree in Nursing or Management preferred
Licenses/Certifications: Current State of Texas nursing license or temporary/compact license; Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) required; AHIMA ICD-10-CM/PCS Trainer preferred
Experience: Minimum of three to five years of experience in Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI); previous auditing and education experience preferred
Skills: Strong computer proficiency including MS Office; experience with 3M Coding and Reimbursement software and Cerner EMR preferred; excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills; highly organized and detail-oriented
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct audits of clinical documentation specialists to ensure quality and compliance
Track and report audit findings, identifying opportunities for improvement
Provide clear explanations and interpretations on documentation gaps
Stay updated on clinical and coding guidelines, assisting in documentation improvement efforts
Develop and deliver training sessions to physicians and CDIS staff to enhance documentation practices
Collaborate with leadership to refine audit processes and policies
Ensure timely and complete documentation to support data accuracy and quality outcomes
Promote individual professional growth and development, serving as a mentor and resource to colleagues
