Citi Commercial Bank - Commercial Lending Management – Industrials Subsector Head, DirectorCiti's US Commercial Bank (CCB) is a rapidly growing business, targeting emerging, mid- and larger-sized companies with annual revenue generally from $100 million to $3 billion with exposures greater than $10MM. To facilitate the CCB's wholesale lending activities, Commercial Lending Management (CLM) serves as an in-business credit function organized around our strategic industries and global target market approach. CLM plays a critical role of the client delivery model for the CCB, translating thought-leadership, industry and product expertise, and an end-to-end ownership of the credit relationship into best-in-class lending solutions. We are seeking a dynamic and motivated credit professional to join the US CLM Industrials Industry vertical team. The position reports directly to the US CLM Industrials and Business & Professional Services Industry Head.CLM is essential for the delivery of a wide range of financial solutions to Citi CCB clients, working in direct partnership with Relationship Managers and Independent Risk, to execute on the firm's and client's business objectives. This can include working capital solutions, term loans and M&A financing, treasury and liquidity management services, foreign exchange, trade finance and interest rate derivatives. The primary responsibilities of CLM include credit underwriting, due diligence, structuring and documentation, and portfolio monitoring. As part of the business and in direct partnership with relationship coverage bankers, CLM teams provide thorough, objective analysis of the financial condition and credit worthiness of borrowers, including prevailing covered industry sector and product/market conditions, as well as the appropriate credit structure based on various risk considerations.The CLM Subsector Head will be expected to work with their coverage peers in specific deal related and transaction needs to implement and support the CLM and Coverage Heads agreed upon strategy. This role will be responsible for overall day to day portfolio management of the MC portfolio, and more specifically, large complex transactions. This role will be ultimately responsible for the development of SVP Credit Officers as well as the junior CLM employees. The Subsector Head will support the Industry Head in the development and implementation of the credit strategy, credit programs and development of overall risk appetite.The CLM Subsector Head role also requires an extensive understanding of various Citi and CCB-specific credit policies, processes, and procedures, and how to apply these concepts consistently in practice, including ensuring the portfolio is appropriately risk-rated and classified, properly secured (if applicable) and that early warning signs are established and proactively addressed. CLM represents a critical "first line of defense" control function for the bank, ensuring the CCB's credit process is conducted in accordance with all internal and regulatory frameworks, and is responsive to relevant inquiries. This role plays an important role in meeting a high standard for owning the work product of their respective portfolio and represent their covered accounts in numerous highly visible forums. Key ResponsibilitiesResponsible for delivering the CCB coverage model by driving the CLM client calling effort in partnership with Commercial Bankers to drive revenue growth, deepen relationships, proactively owning, responding to and anticipating future needs, challenges or risks, in addition to identifying and pursuing new clients aligned with value proposition.In partnership with the Industry Head, support the implementation of a cross-functional strategy to promote value-added partnership with industry/subsector linked Product, Commercial Bankers and Portfolio Management team to drive sector growth goals.Works in conjunction with the Industry Head to implement and execute strategic initiatives to enable responsible growth, expand target market and increase CCB's market presence while maintain sound and efficient underwriting practices.Leads and manages pipeline, risk and portfolio reviews for respective subsectorRepresents business as senior credit professional for respective portfolio in various forums, including client discussionEnsures compliance with regulatory requirements and Citi's policies / guidelines at all timeAppropriately assesses risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.Provide informed views and effective client solutions in partnership with Coverage, Product and Risk, while balancing risk/reward trade-offDrives quality and timeliness of end-to-end lending process and all credit deliverables to ensure timely responseProvides leadership on various special projects to meet evolving business needs, and recommend changes to improve existing processes to achieve greater efficiency and controlsQualifications:15+ years relevant experienceSenior Credit Officer designation (SCO) or on path to SCO preferredProven track record of risk management & supporting the growth of client relationships through thought partnershipLeadership experience managing and developing a team of credit professionalsStrong credit fundamentals with the ability to articulate a view, work across a range of credit products, with experience in early problem recognition and resolution skillsReaches decisions in a timely and transparent manner, knows when enough information has been collected to make sound decisions, takes calculated risks with the confidence to defend their credit view------------------------------------------------------Job Family Group:Risk Management------------------------------------------------------Job Family:Credit Decisions------------------------------------------------------Time Type:Full time------------------------------------------------------Primary Location:New York New York United States------------------------------------------------------Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:$200,000.00 - $300,000.00In addition to salary, Citi's offerings may also include, for eligible employees, discretionary and formulaic incentive and retention awards.
