We are seeking multiple Senior and Principal Child Support Specialists to join our team. Child Support Services is responsible for initiating paternity actions, establishing and enforcing court orders for child support, and reviewing cases for legal action.

Child Support Specialist, Senior: $48,408.09 - $60,652.80 Annually
Child Support Specialist, Principal: $53,395.27 - $75,254.40 Annually
Full salary range:
Child Support Specialist, Senior: $48,408.09 - $73,122.22 Annually
Child Support Specialist, Principal: $53,395.27 - $80,642.60 Annually Location and hours: 
These positions are remote. Remote workers may be required to come on-site 0 to 12 days a year for work meetings, trainings, or for any other reasons that their supervisor may deem necessary (may include additional days for onboarding and new employee training). Supervisors will provide as much advance notice as practicable. Upon completion of initial onboarding, work hours will typically be Monday through Friday with flexibility to work around the business hours of 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Based on business needs of this position, hires must live in or relocate to Minnesota.   Qualified candidates will be invited via email to take a math and writing assessment online, on your own computer. Assessments will take approximately 60 minutes and the assessment invite email will be sent out on May 20, 2024 and must be completed by May 23, 2024 . New employees who are hired into remote or hybrid positions between January 2, 2022 to December 31, 2024, will receive $500 toward the cost of establishing consistent internet connectivity, payable upon completion of 6 months of employment. About these position types:

In these positions, you will: Manage a caseload using a variety of county and state computer systems to access and enter resident and case data, research and analyze information, and access manuals and other policy/program-related resources. Use a person-centered approach to conduct client interviews involving sensitive issues and explain program requirements. Collaborate with parents, employers, county attorneys, other county departments, state agencies, and other child support agencies to secure financial support for families. Provide exceptional customer service by initiating and responding to resident inquiries via phone, email, and mail. Follow and implement federal and state regulations and policies.
Work within a team where tasks may include: Initiating actions to establish financial obligations and/or paternity. Preparing case facts and legal documents, attending court hearings, and interpreting court orders. Performing enforcement activities to ensure compliance with court ordered obligations. Reconciling accounts to reflect changes in parties' circumstances and/or court orders. Need to have: For hire as a Child Support Specialist, Senior one of the following: Bachelor's degree or higher in social/behavioral sciences, human services, business, accounting, finance, legal services, or a related field. Associates degree in one of the required fields and  one year or more of experience in performing collection activities, determining financial assistance eligibility, working in banking/finance, or providing administrative support related to collections and/or financial assistance eligibility. Three or more years of experience related to supporting collection or financial assistance eligibility determination. Two or more years of the required experience and completion of the Human Services Pathway Program . Two or more years of the required experience and completion of the Pine Technical and Community College Human Service Child Support Diploma Program. For hire as Child Support Specialist, Principal  one of the following: 18 months or more of experience as a Senior Child Support Officer. 18 months or more of approved equivalent public sector experience.
