Charter School Program Fiscal Coordinator Location Hybrid remote in Albuquerque, NM : THE SEARCH: In September, PCSNM was awarded a 5-year, $52 million Charter Schools Program - State Entities (CSP) grant to expand opportunities for students to attend public charter schools in New Mexico. Public Charter Schools of New Mexico (PCSNM) is seeking a CSP Fiscal Coordinator to play a key role in expanding the organization's capacity to successfully implement New Mexico's CSP Grant. The Fiscal Coordinator will play an essential administrative role with respect to PCSNM's oversight of federal funds awarded to new, expanding, and replicating charter schools. This is measured by the legislation we've helped defeat and get passed, the actions of our state department and authorizers, and the satisfaction of our membership in our services. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE: The ideal candidate for the position of Fiscal Coordinator for PCSNM's CSP grant should possess a strong financial background and show the ability to learn complex federal grant regulations. They should be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of overseeing budget planning, monitoring expenditures, and ensuring compliance with federal guidelines. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are essential, as the Fiscal Coordinator will need to work closely with the Deputy Director and Grant Manager to report financial progress. Additionally, this candidate should be committed to supporting charter schools and contribute to the efficient and accountable allocation of grant funds. CSP FISCAL COORDINATOR ROLE: This is a full-time position that reports directly to the Deputy Director. PCSNM is a hybrid work environment, and the CSP Fiscal Coordinator must be able to report on workdays in our Albuquerque office at least 2 days a week. The position includes flexible scheduling, generous time off, and a competitive benefits package, including health insurance and a matching 401K program. Salary will be determined commensurate with qualifications and experience. The hiring salary for this position is $55,000 - $60,000. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Monitor subgrantee spending to ensure reimbursement requests are adequately substantiated, consistent with approved budgets, and compliant with all federal and state regulations. • Partner with CSP Grants Manager and Deputy Director • Provide ongoing monitoring support through site visits, desk reviews, and capacity interviews. • Provide ongoing support to both subgrant applicants and active subgrantees through budget support webinars, targeted fiscal trainings, and office hours that equip charter operators to maximize their grant awards for the benefit of all students. EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Ideal candidates will possess the following characteristics: • A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field (preference may be provided to candidates with an advanced degree). • A customer service orientation with clients. • Professional experience in accounting, auditing, finance management preferred. • Knowledge of policies and procedures based on federal and state requirements that ensure fiscal compliance.
