CMA Responsibilities Certified Medication Aides (CMA) are responsible for administering daily medication to residents in accordance with accepted standards of practice, state and federal regulations and licensing requirements. CMA duties include monitoring residents, reporting changes, and collecting and recording medication administration.
CMA Requirements Certified in the state of practice, required.
Successful completion of State Approved Certified Medication Aide and Nurse Aide Training and Competency Evaluation Program; Name must appear on State Registry as a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) in good standing.
Minimum of 2 years prior experience as a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) in a skilled nursing facility preferred but not required.
Current BLS/CPR certification (All SNFs; ALFs as required by state).
