We're looking for a reliable medical assistant to work directly with our healthcare staff and help us provide first-class care to our patients. You'll greet people when they come in, schedule appointments, take patient histories, collect test samples, and assist with examinations, all while building an excellent rapport with our patients. Apply today!Responsibilities:• Fill out the appropriate insurance forms and document patient appointments, listing all symptoms, test results, diagnoses, treatment instructions, and prescriptions on the patient records• Make sure examination rooms are ready for patients by ensuring they're well-stocked and at a comfortable temperature and that all equipment is sterilized• Assist healthcare staff with examinations by handing the appropriate medical instrument and supplies to the physician, positioning the patient, and helping with other tasks as needed• Talk with the patient about the reason for their visit and record their personal information and medical history to share with healthcare staff• Document the patient's vital signs including respiration rate, blood pressure, respiration rate, and pulse and write down the information in their chart• Learn clinic computer hardware and software and use them according to company policies• Comply with patient needs at all times and ensure all questions are answered• Organize medical records, laboratory results, and progress notes to ensure that the healthcare provider has all of the available and necessary information during patient encounters• Assist with the Front Desk as necessaryQualifications:• Candidates must have successfully completed an accredited medical assisting program a supervised externship in a healthcare setting• Great communication and customer service skills • Should have a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or other certifying agency• High school diploma or GED• Over 1 year of work experience as a medical assistant performing admin duties or similar role in a healthcare work environment • Certified Medical Assistant Certificate Preferred• Previous experience in a medical or primary care group practice or similar situations is preferred• Customer service-oriented and passionate about helping patients• Possesses clinical skills• Electronic Medical Records and/or Electronic Health Records experience preferred (eClinical)• Proficient in medical terminology preferred.• Job Type: Full-Time• Schedule: 8-Hour Per Day • Five Days Per Week • In-Person About Company: NOVA Patient Care serves patients with urgent care for minor illnesses and injuries and comprehensive and personalized primary health care for most medical conditions. While we currently provide urgent care and primary care to our patients and communities in seven (7) locations throughout Northern Virginia, including Woodbridge, and expanding rapidly. We will be opening another clinic in November 2023 in Fredericksburg.
