Job Description SummaryJob DescriptionJobDescription SummaryThe Certification Engineer – Regional and Business Aviation will report to a Systems Engineering Leader in Cincinnati, OH. This person must consider both the business and the technical needs of customers to execute certification activities that require coordination with the ODA, Airworthiness & Certification team, FAA, EASA, and other Civil Aviation Authorities. They will apply regulatory knowledge and cross-discipline technical expertise towards airworthiness and certification outcomes. This is a senior position for experienced applicants.Essential ResponsibilitiesApplies regulatory knowledge and awareness to lead certification activities across all engineering disciplines, including defining requirements for and planning of certification efforts.Authors and reviews certification deliverables. Strong technical writing and communication skills.Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking to execute policy/strategy.Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrated with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.Responsible for driving CTQ / Risk trades within the teams designing the components. Manages the overall product configuration and configuration control system.Facilitate communication of technical and business information within the work group and between both internal and external departments/agencies.Assure technical quality excellence, timely completion of work and reviews, appropriate use of resources, and responsiveness to customer / program needs.Effectively communicate and provide recommendations through the analysis and presentation of technical data to internal and external GE customers.Qualifications/RequirementsBachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in engineering.Minimum of 5 years' experience in systems or airworthiness & certification engineering.Desired CharacteristicsSelf-starter with an eye constantly on problem solving and driving solutionsExperience working with regulatory agenciesExperience in certification content and deliverablesTechnical expertise in jet engine and/or hardware designEstablished project management skills and ability to coordinate several projects simultaneouslyStrong oral and written communication skillsAbility to influence small team and across functionsUncompromising desire to ensure the safety of the travelling public as well as that of fellow employeesGE offers a great work environment, professional development, challenging careers, and competitive compensation.
