LockNet is seeking an organized and diligent Category Specialist Buyer to join our team!
This position will be tasked with managing end to end procurement activities across assigned categories. This role will require you to manage a variety of stakeholder groups in a dynamic and challenging environment. You will need to deliver efficiencies and cost savings whilst improving supply in a fast paced category driven environment.
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Contribute to the development of category plans, market analysis, demand management, contract management and performance reporting activities for the assigned product category(s). Purchasing items according to ERP plans, category and stakeholder requirements. Establishing and maintaining effective relationships and communication with internal customers and vendors. Ensuring that goods arrive on time, to specification. Interfacing with internal customers and vendors to resolve technical queries in a prompt and accurate manner. Effectively identifying supply options and negotiating with vendors to reduce cost or add value in other ways. Identifying and implementing improvement in processes and sourcing arrangements Working with the Finance team to address and resolve invoicing issues in a timely manner. Standards for performance include: Outstanding problem solving, analytical and negotiation skills and the ability to learn new tasks quickly and work independently in a fast-paced environment. The ability to prioritize tasks and be able to manage several projects and tasks simultaneously. Good working knowledge of ERP systems for purchasing, preferably Macola. Attention to detail and the willingness to raise and resolve issues. A strong regard for ethics. The minimum qualifications include: Bachelor's degree, or equivalent required. A qualification in Procurement and/or Supply Chain would be an advantage. Demonstrable experience of 5+ years in a procurement/supply chain role, ideally within a manufacturing, construction or other industrial sector. Excellent computer skills and experience with automated purchasing programs and systems. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office required. Intermediate to advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel. Analytical skills with strong attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
