Job Description: This position exists to perform cashiering functions for both the bookstore and business services ensuring that accurate, verifiable accounts are maintained consistent with federal, state, and agency regulations, policies, and procedures and with good accounting practices. 
Required Qualifications: Knowledge of basic accounting and business principles sufficient to monitor, collect and analyze data, and implement minor procedural and transactional changes in fiscal operations. Skills in math sufficient to compute totals, averages, and percentages of numerical data and to check or reconcile data.  Knowledge of standard computer software programs for word processing and spreadsheets (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel), sufficient to create and modify a variety of documents including, but not limited to, spreadsheets, tables, charts, and grafts.  Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers. Knowledge of customer service practices and principles sufficient to identify each customer's needs and meet quality standards for services, that result in customer satisfaction. Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated high level of cultural competency and ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, aligning with CLC's Culture of Caring environment. Understand and effectively carry out complex oral and written directions. English language sufficient to speak, read, and write a variety of materials. Working knowledge of social media outlets and ability to communicate in a professional manner using those outlets.  Time management and organizational skills sufficient to organize workload and meet deadlines. Working knowledge of MinnState accounting system. Knowledge of laws, policies, procedures, and Legislative Auditor, Department of Finance and State Treasurer requirements for handling and depositing state funds. Ability to mentor, train, and educate others. Working knowledge of retail store practices and procedures.  Other Requirements: Physical Requirements Ability to move and/or transport up to 50 lbs. on a periodic basis. Ability to maintain a stationary position for extended periods of time. Ability to tolerate extreme temperatures on a periodic basis.
