Within our permanent supportive housing programs in King County (Seattle, Kent and Renton) we offer over 775 single resident occupancy units to adult men and women. We provide 24-hour staff support to our residents using a Housing First and Harm Reduction approach
Position Description
We have several openings for the Case Manager position across our eight permanent supportive housing programs to best match your passions, skills and level of experience facing housing instability in King County. Our programs vary as they serve single adults, couples and co-ed buildings. These positions are full-time (37.5 hours weekly).
We believe that every person has the right to a safe, affordable place to call home. We seek case managers who care deeply about the health and well-being of our residents who have lived through the trauma of homelessness.
The case managers in our permanent supportive housing programs works independently and as part of a team to provide outreach, ongoing case management and individualized service plans to residents. This position is responsible for providing a range of supportive interventions to increase stability for residents, focusing especially on housing retention and behavioral health. As part of ongoing support, the case manager coordinates with other members of the team by referring residents to other needed services (ie., medical, legal, etc.).
Provide compassionate and responsive supportive services to a caseload of about 28 residents Work alongside each resident to develop individualized housing service plans to address their identified needs Coordinate and connect residents to services, including, primary care, substance use treatment, mental health services, crisis services, and more Document case management interactions in the form of progress notes that reflects the resident's goals Provide crisis de-escalation and risk assessments for residents as needed Collaborate with other staff and service providers to maintain the resident's housing stability, safety and well-being Create and facilitate activities to promote community building Job Conditions
This position requires the employee to work in an environment where there may be exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and other potentially infectious material. Other exposures could include cleaning supplies, chemicals involved in pest control, paint and other materials used in building maintenance. Working conditions may include interruptions, interactions with angry persons, and exposure to computer CRTs.
Physical And Mental Acuity Requirements

Able to hear telephone rings, phone conversation, doorbells, emergency alarms and face-to-face conversation. Able to speak clearly in person and on the telephone. Able to hand write legibly. Vision that enables person to read normal size print and handwritten notes; and distance and peripheral vision than enables person to monitor large space and identify concerns that require staff response. Mobility/dexterity of hands/arms to enable keying into locked areas as well as using a computer and other office equipment. Able to sit for sustained periods of time. Able to walk the entire building and ascend and descend stairs quickly to move from one floor to another in order to respond to emergency situations. Able to lift, move and/or carry up to 40 pounds. Regularly able to perform duties as assigned. Able to make independent decisions and apply sound judgment in performing job duties. A Bachelor's Degree in a human/social services field; may also be an Associate's degree in a relevant field with one year of field experience, or 3 years of human services work experience can be substituted for a bachelor's degree. Basic computer skills with ability to maintain up to date and thorough records. Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team. Demonstrable understanding of drug and alcohol issues within the Harm Reduction Model. Skillful communication with a working knowledge of Trauma Informed Care practices. Support and uphold the mission, beliefs and values of Catholic Community Services and Catholic Housing Services. Demonstrates the necessary attitudes, knowledge and skills to deliver culturally competent services and work effectively in multi-cultural settings. Applicant must successfully pass required background clearances prior to an offer of employment. Preferred Qualifications Experience working within the emergency shelter system and/or resident setting. Spanish language proficiency.
