- History of fostering connections and building relationships Job Description: The Business Career Services office in the Ivy College of Business at Iowa State University is now accepting applications for a Career Service Specialist III, with the departmental title of Senior Career Coordinator . Business Career Services is one of seven college-based career services offices on the Iowa State University campus and reports to the academic unit. The Ivy College of Business is home to approximately 4,300 undergraduate students offering 14 undergraduate majors. The mission of Business Career Services is to develop business professionals prepared for lifelong career success by providing access to customized coaching, competency focused teaching, experience-based learning and connectivity with industry.

The individual holding this position will have leadership of multiple high profile programs including a leadership academy, peer mentor program development, training and support, and all associated supervision.

Additional responsibilities include managing a caseload of students in specified majors, building relationships with administrators, faculty, staff, and alumni to provide information related to employment, identifying employers to engage in recruiting, managing department events/programs, and delivering reports and data. The incumbent will teach BUS AD 2030, Professional Development in Business, and may teach BUS AD 1050, Exploring Majors and Careers in Business.

The successful candidate will possess 5+ years of relevant experience, strong leadership abilities, and excellent communication skills. The candidate will be capable of independent judgment, taking initiative, and working collaboratively with a diverse group of individuals. This position will involve supervision of others and knowledge of effective teaching, coaching and program management strategies. The candidate must be professional, dependable, and value continuous improvement/lifelong learning. Level Guidelines
• Senior-level position possessing high-level professional and/or technical skills working independently under minimal supervision to support ISU's mission and department or work unit goals
• Applies senior-level professional knowledge and expertise to work requiring greater latitude
• Solves moderately complex problems and regularly exercises judgment to determine appropriate action
• Regularly exercises judgment to resolve problems and determine appropriate action on a broad set of issue and problems. May provide recommendations regarding problems/issues outside the bounds of defined procedures and practices
• Responds to complicated inquiries, provides training, and provides direction to lower-level staff
• May provide supervision for one to two other staff (i.e., leads a small work team)
• May lead projects for which well-defined practices and procedures may not exist
