What You Will be Doing:
This position can be in the Medford or Grants Pass WorkSource Oregon Centers and will serve the Rogue Valley. The primary purpose of this position is to do job development for individuals including underserved population and areas. The Career Development Coordinator will hold a caseload of job seekers who are seeking employment and who may need additional coaching and job development support.
In this role you will:
Build strong relationships with our career coaching staff to partner to assist job seekers with work readiness preparation and employment opportunities.
Develop job opportunities aligned with participant interest and employer needs.
Use data systems to enter job seeker and employer services, tracking notes, etc.
Work closely with business services team, workforce board and other program partners to coordinate outreach services to businesses. Communicate effectively and consistently with businesses to demonstrate the value we offer to achieve the desired goals.
Monitor program performance outcomes to align program design and service delivery to meet local program and partner goals and strategies, preparing program status reports.
Participate in program-required meetings as needed to provide labor market updates, connections, plans and outcome reports. Participate in area hiring events, establish partnerships, and connect ready to hire job seekers with employers.

What we are looking for:

Desired Attributes-
Prior work-based training and job development experience working with priority populations with successful placements.
Outreach/service promotion and recruitment experience preferred.
Proficiency in managing data and reports to create recruitment and placement strategies to meet program and business needs.
Demonstrated experience in contacting community resources, businesses, and building positive partnerships with WorkSource Rogue Valley staff, partners, and key stakeholders.
Team player: demonstrated ability to be a highly engaged, energetic and catalytic member of an inter-organizational team of workforce partners.
Commitment to valuing diversity and promoting inclusion.
To provide program coverage, travel throughout Jackson and Josephine County is required when needed. Medford or Grants Pass can be the base location, and an Oregon Employment vehicle may be provided for use. Travel will be reimbursed to all non-base locations when a vehicle is not available and using a personal vehicle. Travel may be required outside of our workforce area to attend meetings, conferences, or other business activities.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, or a degree related to the agency program that demonstrates the capacity for the knowledge and skills; and two years experience coordinating or administering a program

OR;

Any combination of experience or education equivalent to five years of experience that typically supports the knowledge and skill requirements listed for the classification.
The successful candidate for a Spanish bilingual position will demonstrate language competency in Spanish/ English language by demonstrating (only required if applying for Spanish Bilingual Differential Pay): The ability to communicate at informal and some formal level.
The ability to converse with more detail about familiar topics.
The ability to comment on unfamiliar topics with some difficulty but still be able to express the main idea.
The ability to form long sentences with sufficient vocabulary but tending to maintain native language syntax.
Intelligible pronunciation, which does not interfere with understanding.
The ability to sustain a fluent conversation.

Additional Information:
Bilingual Pay Differential: Employees assigned to use Spanish bilingual skills in the regular performance of their duties will receive a monthly pay differential of 5% over their base salary pay. This position is represented by the Service Employees International Union (SEIU).
This recruitment may be used to fill future Permanent, Limited Duration, Job Rotation and Temporary vacancies as they occur.
