Overview:
The Pre-Release Career Coach works directly with participants to facilitate education and employment trainings. Working within a correctional facility, the Pre-Release Career Coach prepares participants for job placement, retention, and promotion.
Your role will involve:
Facilitating excellent participant programming:
Conducting impactful group sessions, maintaining frequent and supportive participant communication
Consistently delivering high-quality education and employment curriculum to participants
Upholding the quality and fidelity of our Re-entry Model curriculum when delivering group sessions
Preparing for sessions with participants by reviewing curriculum and participant case notes
Building a bond of trust with participants to ensure smooth transition to post-release services
Collaborative team engagement
Documenting participant interactions, progress, and challenges in electronic record system
Collaborating closely with participants' care team, including case managers and therapists, to ensure coordination of services and holistic care delivery
Attending team meetings and trainings

Skill in documenting interactions in case notes and flagging participant needs
Commitment to professionalism, integrity, and compassion in all interactions
Required education, licensure, and experience:
Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, psychology, human resources, or related field
3-5 years of experience delivering workforce development or career coaching to a vulnerable population
Ability to pass DOC security clearance
Driver's license
CPR / Adult First Aid certification preferred
Preferred certifications: Certified Professional Career Coach and/or Offenders Workforce Development Specialist
