Performs all aspects of echocardiographic imaging under the direct supervision of a Cardiac Sonographer II or III and under the general supervision of the Medical Director of the Noninvasive Cardiac Imaging Laboratory.
Essential Job Functions Preparing patients for Transthoracic echo reviewing indications, comparing previous studies to accurately answer all questions by referring physician, and communicates with patients, customers, and staff in a respectful and compassionate manner. UtilizesISCV data archiving system and Electronic Medical Records system to record, charge and report procedures. Actively participates in process improvement activities. Involved in research and publications to be at the cutting edge of the field. Performs other duties assigned. Required Qualifications High School Graduate or equivalent. BLS certification and Registration by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) and pass the registry within one year of hire. From 1 to 5 years' experience required in ultrasound procedures equipment, CW Doppler, and related anatomy and pathological conditions of the heart, valves, pericardium, and blood vessels. Independently perform a complete transthoracic examination with appropriate use of contrast when necessary. Computer literate in order to work with applicable software. Perform quantitative echocardiographic measurements for reporting. Demonstrates responsibility for checking orders and obtaining orders for testing. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.
