You like being exceptionally good at what you do. How You Will Make an Impact: We are looking for a Café & Events Manager at our Norfolk Aquarium location. This position is responsible for managing teams at two locations within the facility, ensuring that the cafés run smoothly and efficiently, organizing and overseeing private events, and delivering exceptional customer service. Some tasks you will be responsible for:
Opening Procedures: Complete proper setup by turning on the fryer and ovens and making sure everything is ready for the day. Daily Operations: Ensure food production meets specifications; maintain stock and product availability at both buildings; assist staff in preparing orders, as needed. Staff Management: Lead the team by assigning tasks and ensuring everyone stays on task; maintain labor standards and make staffing adjustments when necessary. Inventory and Ordering: Conduct regular inventory of all products; order paper products and food supplies to maintain stock levels. Event Sales and Execution: Be the point person for booking catering for private events held at the Aquarium. Coordinate details including menu and staffing considerations. Customer Experience: Create a pleasant experience for guests and address any customer enquiries or complaints promptly. Closing Procedures: Oversee closing procedures and properly shut down the facilities. Reports: Run end-of-day reports to track sales and inventory. What You Bring to the Table: Proven experience as a restaurant or cafe manager or similar role. Event sales/coordination experience a plus. Strong leadership and communication skills. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of food safety regulations.
