The CAAS Program Coordinator (Program Coordinator II) is responsible for planning, developing, and managing initiatives for collegiate research and academic programs. Specifically, this person leads efforts in strategic planning; development and implementation of program priorities; and communications and outreach. Important skills for a successful candidate for this position include initiative, good organizational, written, and verbal communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft suite. This position works collaboratively with the College of Agriculture & Applied Science (CAAS) associate deans and independently analyzes problems and recommends resolutions for implementation. 
Major Areas of Responsibility include, but are not limited to: Develop and manage initiatives for CAAS Research and Graduate Programs (40%): Develop, implement and manage initiatives to advance collegiate goals and opportunities for research and graduate programs; analyze and evaluate existing and potential programs, make recommendations, develop methods and action plans, manage implementation and assess and report on program success. Oversee planning efforts in the areas of CAAS research, Graduate Programs, and Utah Agricultural Experiment Station; serve as liaison between faculty and external stakeholders and consultants; make recommendations on content of strategic plan, implementation steps and quality metrics for measuring success; advise Associate Dean on resources and course of action in support of strategic priorities. Prioritize Associate Dean's meeting commitments in accordance with collegiate research and graduate program priorities; keep Associate Dean informed and prepared for upcoming commitments and responsibilities. Facilitate meetings on behalf of Associate Dean; provide summary and recommendations for action. Manage communication and implementation of collegiate priorities with internal and external stakeholders Represent Associate Dean in meetings Under the direction of the Associate Dean for Research organize, compile and build spreadsheets to facilitate grant submission and review processes using Qualtrics and Xcel. Develop reports from interviews and data collected Track events; ensure timely and accurate communication from Dean's office Develop and manage initiatives for CAAS Internships and initiatives of the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Education and Graduate Programs (40%): Develop Internship Opportunities: Actively seek out and establish relationships with organizations, companies, and institutions to create internship opportunities for CAAS students. Advertise and Promote Internship Opportunities: Publicize internship opportunities through various CAAS platforms such as university career services, job boards, social media, and networking events. Match students with Suitable Opportunities: Assess the skills, interests, and career goals of students and share internship opportunities that align. Provide Support and Guidance: Serve as a mentor and primary point of contact for CAAS students throughout their internship period, offering guidance, support, and resources to help them succeed in their roles. Monitor Internship Progress: Regularly check in with students and internship supervisors to monitor student progress, address any concerns or challenges, and ensure that students are meeting their learning objectives and organizational expectations. Evaluation and Feedback: Conduct performance evaluations to assess student' performance, provide constructive feedback, and offer recommendations for their continued growth and development. Program Assessment and Improvement: Evaluate the effectiveness of the internship program by collecting feedback from students, supervisors, and stakeholders, and identify areas for improvement to enhance the overall quality and impact of the program. Communications (20%): Communicate directly, and on behalf of the Associate Deans, with faculty, staff and outside parties, on matters related to Associate Dean's initiatives. Create content for correspondence, agreements, reports, presentations, marketing and informational materials for internal and external stakeholders including faculty, graduate students, administrators, outside collaborators and government and NGO representatives Develop and make recommendations for web site content for CAAS. Minimum Qualifications: Six-year combination of experience and/or education (e.g., six years of related work experience, Bachelor's degree plus two years of experience, etc.)  Knowledge of computers and database/spreadsheet/word processing software Preferred Qualifications: Experience in an academic setting. Experience in communications and developing marketing materials; strategic planning coordination; data analysis and reporting. Demonstrated written and oral communication skills. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to effectively interact with students, faculty, staff, and the public. Along with the online application, please attach:
