Quarterly bonuses What will you do: The  Buyer/Planner will be responsible for the scheduling and capacity planning of production against customer requirements, maintaining reporting related to scheduling, purchase some commodities as well as focus on upcoming material needs to ensure on time delivery. You will be highly involved in an integrated communication chain with the Supply Chain team to manage potential shortages or schedule changes, resulting in the pursuit of expedites or push outs; validating and pursing alternative sourcing as needed.
Aligns ERP production schedules with customer requirements. Create a schedule in which priority due dates are equal to ship dates and planned capacity equals required capacity. Develop production schedule and communicate to Production. Interact daily with Production Supervisors, leads, purchasing, and customer service. Maintains reports to reflect scheduling methods, support performance, and process procedures. Develop relevant performance metrics, monitor performance, and issue weekly and monthly reports. Maintain the date integrity on the backlog, keeping all dates current. Review and report performance updates to the Supply Chain Manager. Manage supply base for commodities assigned to support the production demand. Expedite and de-expedite materials based on production schedule changes. Manage inventories on assigned commodities. Ensure compliance with purchasing policies and procedures, ethical practices and adherence to relevant laws and regulations.  Provide expertise and input as a representative of the procurement function in cross functional team projects. Develops continuous improvement opportunities relative to position and participates in execution. What you bring: Bachelor's degree in business, operations management, or similar field; or a combination of equivalent education and experience. A minimum of 4 years of experience in planning and/or scheduling within a manufacturing company is preferred. Attention to detail and a tenacious ability to resolve errors to completion. Strong interpersonal skills. Experience with an ERP system (SAP, JDEdward, PLEX) Advanced Excel skills, strong analytical capabilities, with a basic understanding of statistical analysis techniques required. Proven knowledge of purchasing, production planning and inventory control in manufacturing environment, as well as Supply Chain best practices. Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives. Excellent analytical, negotiation and organizational skills. Ability to read and understand prints.
