Buyer IIReq. # 19904 Company Name TA Category Supply Chain Location US-DE-New Castle Type Regular Full-TimeOverviewAt TA Instruments the Buyer II is responsible for developing the Supply Chain within designated categories to ensure quality and continuity of supply, and continuous improvement in productivity and cost. The Buyer III will manage and liaise between the various manufacturers/suppliers and the procurement community in support of TA Instruments production requirements. Key activities include; supplier discovery and sourcing suppliers to manufacture components unique to TA Instruments, exercise judgment to address material issues, negotiate costs as required, review and manage purchase price variances and identifies standard pricing on an annual basis. This role is 50% transactional and 50% strategic.ResponsibilitiesManage RFQ and award process for assigned suppliers/commodityIssue Purchase Orders per MRP messaging and manage scheduling activities with suppliersPartner with Global Procurement Category managers to standardize activities according to global tools and processesGather and analyze data related to purchasing function. Inclusive of spend and supplier analytics, make vs buy analysis models, etc.Manage suppliers to meet TA performance expectations; including the management of Quarterly Business Reviews and support for supplier quality auditsNegotiate supply agreements and work with the SQE to develop Quality AgreementsManage inventory levels to support production while minimizing investment in accordance with inventory policiesQualificationsBachelors degree in a Technical or Business field with ability to understand the technical nature of materials being purchased; Supply Chain Mgt focus preferredFundamental understanding of engineering documentation and ability to communicate with technical staffAnalytical skills to collect, research, and interpret a variety of business, technical, and financial data; gathers and analyzes information strategicallyStrong negotiation skills and the ability to think creativelyProblem solving skills in order to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; Lean experience a plusStrong communication skills and the ability to work within a matrix organization, as well as the capability to represent TA to external sources in a professional and ethical mannerKnowledge of Material Requirements Planning, SAP Preferred but not requiredCPIM, CPSM, CPM or PMP PreferredCompany DescriptionWaters Corporation (NYSE: WAT), the world's leading specialty measurement company, has pioneered chromatography, mass spectrometry and thermal analysis innovations serving the life, materials, and food sciences for over 60 years.
