POSITION TITLE: Business Instructor

PAY SCHEDULE: As per REA Collective Bargaining Agreement and experience

Qualifications : Certified at secondary level in Business Education 6-12 GQ or GX; Or hold Vocational Business Services Certificate 6-12 VB; Or have relevant work experience and meet criteria to obtain Vocational Certification in Business, Technology, Services, Marketing or a related field. Demonstrated technology leadership in the secondary building. Model integrated lesson plans that use software, media, and technology. Demonstrated experience in marketing and school store preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of media/video production. Demonstrated knowledge of teaching computer literacy. Extensive knowledge of networks in a lab situation. Experience collaborating with the district web master on sites for district web site by integrating student work
Able to work with district video technicians for district cable channel integration of student work. Responsibilities : Provide instruction and explain new ideas and unfamiliar concepts in a clear and concise way so that students can understand. Use effective strategies for Differentiation of Instruction. Adhere to curricular goals / objectives to support commonality between classroom instructions. Develop lesson plans that support School Improvement Goals. Actively engage students in lessons and meaningful learning experiences that are planned around grade level expectations and enhance critical thinking skills. Administers various types of assessments to monitor student performance and adjust instruction. Enhances the instructional environment towards gains in student performance goals. Engaging with parents and ability to create healthy relationships with students. Communicate regularly and routinely with parents. Manage students, data on students, etc. Evaluation of students (report cards). Work collaboratively with all staff. Collaborate with Romulus Community Schools' Grade Level colleagues to develop a comprehensive, collaborative and aligned education program. Manage equipment / inventory in the classroom.
