You will develop and handle strategic agreements that support Spotify's mission and will positively impact our growth as an organization. This role is based in our Johannesburg office with frequent international travel, and you will report to the Head of Business Development for SAMEA regions. Above all, your work will impact the way the world experiences audio.What You'll DoYou will identify, structure, negotiate and manage strategic deals within the local market and regional partners that are relevant to Spotify's growth and vision in the Sub Saharan Africa regionThis will be done in collaboration with our Premium, Product, Engineering and Marketing teams to develop a product portfolio crafted to deliver value for partnersYou will be the 'go to' person for our partners' needs, defining and executing on the long-term partner relationship in the region !You will be responsible to seek and secure activation opportunities, and carry out detailed partner analysisEnsure that Spotify's commitments in a partner relationship are delivered (e.g., marketing, data reporting, etc.) as well as follow-up on the partner's dedicationsIdentify new opportunities to grow partnership and unlock additional value for both Spotify and our partners in Sub Saharan Africa Manage internal approvals including interacting with senior internal executives from relevant functions (e.g., Product, Engineering, Legal, Finance) to lead partnerships to closureDrive cross-functional teams towards deal objectivesIdentify key partners and build relationships and credibility within partner organizationsManage a pipeline of prospective partnerships in Sub Saharan AfricaRelay partner feedback and market intelligence to internal teamsWho You AreYou have a minimum of 5 years' experience in business development and/or strategic partnerships with a digital service company in the AfricaYou have successfully managed partnerships with large companies and demonstrate an ability to think strategically about sophisticated business issues and implement strategic action plans. Experience with a Telcos in Sub Saharan Africa will be an added advantage You are comfortable working with product, design and engineering teams while also being skilled at communicating complex technical concepts to non-technical partnersExperience working in a dynamic, ever-changing environment with a track record of results and a collaborative approach, working with all levels of management (externally and internally) and communicating cross-functionally in a structured and clear manner to influence outcomesPrevious experience with financial modelling and strategic analysisYou are an articulate professional with exceptional communication skills, problem-solving and analytical skills with strong influencing abilitiesYou pay attention to details and have the ability to see the end game of each business opportunityProduct savvy with a deep understanding of technology, trends, and the ability to articulate value points with partners and internal teamsStrong facility for negotiating contracts, interpreting legal documents, and working with attorneys to complete agreementsFluent in English; French language a plusWhere You'll BeThis role is based in our Johannesburg officeSpotify is an equal opportunity employer.
