Purpose of the job

As Club Med's portfolio becomes more diverse, moves more upscale, and grows its focus on mountain and international resorts, the Business Development Manager is responsible to grow revenue from travel agencies in the assigned territory.

This position offers a base salary between $70,000.00 to $80,000.00 with potential to make up to $120,000.00 annually with bonus and commissions.

As our world also becomes more remotely based, this person will need to be able to effectively navigate remote relationship building, and sales, while still being able to evaluate the value of, and participate in, relevant in-person events and face to face meetings. The ideal candidate will be able to relate a compelling vision of the Club Med offer and adept at using digital tools to do so, including video conferencing, webinars, social media and others as well as shepherding sales opportunities through the pipeline. They will be passionate about travel, and an active lifestyle.

Responsibilities
---------------------------------------------------------
To achieve sales objectives, and grow presence of Club Med brand through:

1/ Developing new Travel Agency relationships and leads for Club Med, within the assigned area
2/ Reactivating dormant travel agency relationships and developing business from those accounts
3/ Training on products and tools (e.g. CMTA, Club Med University) through in person, as well as virtual, sales visits and events.
4/ Maintain and grow relationships with existing travel agency partners: growing sales, and expanding opportunities within partner networks and agencies, while providing outstanding service and support.
5/ Represent Club Med at trade shows and other events as needed.
6/ Support sales team overall objectives
7/ Other duties as assigned.

Profile and skills
---------------------------------------------------------
Education & Background
Minimum 5 years sales experience. Travel, tourism, hotel or related experience preferred
Bachelor's degree preferred, or any equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
Valid driver's license required and vehicle in good condition.
Valid passport required
Candidate must reside in California or Nevada (Southern CA preferred)
Candidate must be comfortable with technology, including Microsoft office applications as well as social media.

The ideal candidate will be:

Entrepreneurial – self starter and able to operate with minimal supervision.
Adaptable and well-versed in change management
Highly proficient with digital tools - Comfortable with technology, engaging through digital channels, social media and adept at content creation
Able to learn quickly, and master standard office software as well as custom programs (Salesforce experience is a plus).
Active and preferably having experience with or a strong knowledge of recreational sporting activities offered in our resorts, especially ski or other mountain activities.
A master of sales skills with a proven track record
Passionate about travel and experiencing new cultures
Compelling: able to get others excited and engaged with a product or service
A good communicator and presenter that is comfortable building relationships and communicating a value proposition, in an individual setting as well as with a group.
A good listener: able to ask the right questions and understand a client's motivation.

Able to participate in resort activities during agent familiarization trips and sales meetings, with reasonable accommodation.
Able to lift up to 30 lbs. to pack and transport marketing collateral to travel agents, or trade show displays, with reasonable accommodation
Able to stand for long periods of time for presentations and provide walking tours for clients in resorts, with reasonable accommodation
Willing and able to travel extensively away from home as needed to service clients and attend events (in some cases internationally- a valid passport is required)
Willing to jump in to assist where required and take on other duties as assigned
Someone with a positive can-do attitude.
