Job Details- Our Business Development Manager is a full time position reporting to multiple locations, to include Fitchburg, Leominster and Framingham. Other locations will be disclosed upon addition. The BDM will be furnished with an office, computer, access to the personal and commercial lines customer service team. The BDM is expected to be at the office at 8:30 am and leave at 5:00pm unless otherwise vetted by a manger or owner. Compensation will vary due to circumstance and tenure.
Objective: The BDM is responsible for prospecting, soliciting, quoting, and selling new Personal and Commercial Lines Accounts. The BDM must also continue their efforts to counsel their existing clients or book of business. The BDM must maintain a positive working relationship with the other departments that service his book and clients. The BDM must give the CSR's legible and informative submissions for quotes. He is to work in unison with CSR's and Underwriters.
Knowledge/Experience: · Licensed in Property and Casualty
· College Education or equivalent insurance experience
· Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with others. Must be able to interpret and explain complex information with others and respond appropriately.
· Knowledge of Insurance Products and Markets.
· Ability to generate new business, maintain current clients, and carry out a sale.
Skills & Requirements: · Ability to clearly communicate with team
· Ability to use deductive reasoning
· Ability to multi task
· Ability to understand basic math ( add, subtract, multiply, divide, percentages).
· Ability to use the computer and the function systems.
· Drivers license
· Ability to use a phone
· Help insureds with loss control and collect information if a claim happens.
· Collect signed applications and deposits.
· Continue to develop relationships with clients and prospects
Responsibility: · Keep insureds up to date on any changes to their policies.
· Prequalify insurance prospects for quality of risk
· Follow ethical sales procedures
· Create and maintain prospect sales lists
· Respond to request and referrals quickly and effectively
· Design insurance programs and recommend coverages to prospects or clients
· Ask for referrals!
