Full job description Big Brothers Big Sisters is seeking a highly motivated Business Development Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing strategies to enhance our organization's revenue streams, partnerships, and overall growth. The Business Development Manager will play a critical role in expanding our reach, securing funding opportunities, and cultivating relationships with key stakeholders.
Travel to Door and Shawano County for donor and community engagement meetings is required.
Key Responsibilities: 40% Corporate donor outreach and engagement
30% Organizing fundraising events
20% Donor Stewardship
10% Submitting grant requests
Corporate donor outreach and engagement:
1. Identify and pursue new funding opportunities, including sponsorships and partnerships with corporations and philanthropic groups. Sponsorship and gifts will typically fall under $5,000.
2. Build and maintain strong relationships with current and potential donors, sponsors, and partners.
3. Attend community events, meetings, conferences, and external committees.
4. In partnership with BBBS marketing team, prepare compelling sponsorship packages, and presentations to secure funding and support.
Organizing fundraising events:
1. Plan, organize, and execute a range of events, including 1 fundraising gala, 1 golf outing, and 1 corporate biking initiative.
2. Provide support and direction to committees in Door and Shawano County for rural event initiatives.
3. Work closely with donors, sponsors, and other stakeholders to cultivate relationships and maximize their engagement and support for the organization.
4. Coordinate event logistics.
5. Recruit and manage volunteers to support event operations, assign roles and responsibilities and providing guidance and support as needed.
6. Evaluate effectiveness of fundraising efforts and initiatives.
Donor Stewardship:
1. Implement strategies to cultivate and steward relationships with donors, ensuring that they feel valued, appreciated, and engaged with the organization.
2. Collaborate with program staff to gather compelling stories, testimonials, and impact data to share with donors and supporters.
Submitting Grant Requests:
1. Occasional grant request will be assigned to the Development Manager.
Qualifications 1 – 2 years of fundraising, sales, marketing, and or event planning experience required. Bachelor's degree in related field is preferred. Must have a valid driver's license and ability to travel within the community throughout the workday with full time access to an automobile insurance in the amount required by the state of Wisconsin. Must complete BBBSA online cultural competency training, or a course with the same objective, within 30 days of hire.
