Summary
The Clinical and Affordability Analytics team's mission is to improve customer value and affordability across the Medicare Advantage segment. We accomplish this by providing data-informed strategic insights to support decision making and through cross departmental collaboration with our Cigna matrix partners. The team operates in a highly dynamic environment, collaborating across segments, and on a wide variety of Medicare Advantage total cost of care (TCC) reduction initiatives.
Reporting to the Director of Performance Optimization Analytics, the Business Analytics Sr. Advisor will work in a highly matrixed environment, providing consultative and prescriptive analytics to Medicare leadership designed to identify new opportunities for medical cost trend reduction. The analyst will work with stakeholders across all TCC workstreams - pharmacy, clinical operations, claims processing, network management, and provider performance/quality - to identify medical cost savings opportunities and make recommendations to stakeholders to support the realization of identified opportunities. The analyst will partner directly with a team of Medicare advantage subject matter experts that will partner to review opportunity analyses, explore competitive intelligence and industry best practices, and collaborate to create actionable solutions. The analyst will also manage the execution/implementation of these solutions across the different workstreams. The goal of the performance optimization analytics team is to reduce the Medicare segments medical cost trend by 1.25% annually through the implementation of medical cost reduction initiatives. The analyst will play a vital role in this mission that by identifying opportunities, creating actionable recommendations, and partnering to successfully implement the recommendations. Responsibilities Utilize large data sets from medical claims, pharmacy claims, clinical quality data, and other healthcare related datasets to perform data mining to identify trend outliers and opportunities Synthesize findings into an opportunity analysis that is easily digestible by both technical and non-technical resources Make strategic recommendations to business partners based on a holistic review of internal and external solutions that could close the gap identified in the opportunity analysis. Recommendations should be data-informed and tell a comprehensive story Develop insightful and creative visualizations in various tools (Tableau, Excel) to present both ad-hoc and ongoing analyses to aid decision-making Simultaneously manage and prioritize multiple exploratory analyses, working collaboratively with technical and non-technical resources Review progress with, and incorporate feedback from, team leadership and other stakeholders to continuously learn and advance our performance optimization capabilities Attend stakeholder meetings as needed to present or respond to questions about reports or findings as well as stay educated on new or emerging business problems that could result in medical cost opportunities Qualifications 5+ years' of healthcare related data and analytics experience Proficient in SQL/Teradata coding language and query design Proficient in Microsoft Excel Experience with visualization software required (Tableau preferred) Robust experience working with large datasets (medical claims, pharmacy claims, clinical data, demographic, etc.) Ability to collaborate and problem solve with all levels (technical analysts, non-technical resources, leadership, etc.) Exceptional time management and organization skills Healthcare experience preferred Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Health Information Management, Management Information Systems, Finance, Economics or equivalent experience; Master's Degree highly preferred

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 109,100 - 181,800 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.
This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
