Rate:
$63/ hr on W2 r $73 on 1099 (BOE)
Interview process: 1 round remote, possibly 1 round onsite
MUST BE LOCAL
(within commuting distance to the City of Phoenix).
Travel Requirement
: The candidate needs the ability to visit and traverse urban and rural City of Phoenix locations, with possible uneven terrain, to drive requirements for this project. They work in a hybrid environment, but the city buildings in scope for this project may be in rural or urban locations. The hybrid work environment could include partial time in our downtown Phoenix office, or telecommuting, aside from the site visits
The City of Phoenix is looking for an ex perienced Business Analyst
to help
drive requirements on a high-visibility marquee project and
will interact with our growing team of 35 PMs and BAs, as well as various departments within the City of Phoenix.
Essential functions:
Facilitate discussions with Water Department personnel to document requirements and specifications
facilitating improved wireless telecom connectivity
in City facilities, including intended outcomes, features, and functionality.
Develop and document functional specifications associated with system enhancements for wireless systems.
Ensure clarity of documented requirements to prevent
scope creep, gold plating, or non-value-added activities.
Document business requirements according to industry best practices and City of Phoenix PMO processes.
Document functional workflow diagrams to capture business goals and high-level scope.
Demonstrate superior customer service, integrity, and commitment to innovation, efficiency, and fiscally responsible activity.
Qualifications:
Prior successful experience as a
Business Analyst, with prior IT experience and knowledge of the software lifecycle (waterfall and/or agile).
Prior successful experience translating physical business infrastructure needs into tangible requirements.
Ability to navigate physical City sites, including construction sites and/or rugged or rural terrain to gather physical site needs.
Ability to develop
requirements based on professional standards (i.e., PMI or similar).
Four-year degree or equivalent education in Engineering, Information Technology , or related field, with minimum five years experience as a business analyst working on IT infrastructure projects.
Ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure project alignment with business objectives and industry best practices (network security, coverage, bandwidth, etc.).
Ideal candidate has a blend of technical expertise, leadership, and business analysis skills.
Professional and current certification in
PMI is a PLUS (PMP, Agile, and/or similar certification).
Prior experience with
wireless communications capabilities
is a PLUS (Wi-Fi, LTE, 5G, etc.).
