: This position facilitates and captures appropriate charges in accordance with policies, procedures, documentation standards, and regulations.
+ As a Hospice Medical Billing Specialist you need to know how to define and document correct insurance coverage for services provided and maintain a process of communication with third party payors that is required for prompt payment of claims.
+ Maintain data entry processes competently and thoroughly in order to maximize the efficient utilization of the computer system in managing the cost efficient operation.
+ Anticipate issues so as to improve the quality of products/services produced or delivered.
+ Participate as a team member supporting the hospice programs philosophy and goals.
Minimum Qualifications + High School Diploma or equivalent, required- Computer literacy, required
+ At least one (1) year of previous hospice billing experience, preferred- Medical terminology and coding knowledge, preferred
Physical Requirements: + Interact with others by effectively communicating, both orally and in writing.
+ Operate computers and other office equipment requiring the ability to move fingers and hands.
+ See and read computer monitors and documents.
+ Remain sitting or standing for long periods of time to perform work on a computer, telephone, or other equipment.- May require lifting and transporting objects and office supplies, bending, kneeling and reaching.
