The schedule for this position will be Saturday, Sunday & Monday supporting standard operational hours from 6a-5p,additional days/hours may be required during peak seasons. Summary The primary duty of the Human Resource Specialist is to perform a wide variety of human resource activities in various functional areas that may consist of benefits, non-exempt recruitment, employee relations, engagement, safety, workers' compensation, STD/LTD, FMLA, and unemployment claims. The majority of the tasks are administrative in nature but may be more complex and require a greater depth of knowledge, skills and abilities. Essential Functions of Job: Assist in maintaining HRIS according to established processes and procedures in a timely manner. Prepare and maintain employee files. Process new hire, status change, and termination documentation. Post non-exempt job openings, schedule interviews and track internal staffing activity. Process Workers' Compensation claims, reports and data. Process all unemployment benefit claim inquiries, compile supporting documentation and attend hearings if necessary. Retrieve data from applicable systems and maintain regularly scheduled reports in addition to other requested data management reports in order to support the operations team. Process and administer leave of absence requests and disability paperwork. Assist with New Hire Orientation programs and facilitate sessions as necessary. Provide answers to basic employee questions for payroll, benefit and time-off Follow all Company, state and OSHA safety rules, policies and regulations Comply with all Company Loss Prevention policies and procedures Maintain acceptable attendance as set by Sephora company policy and set an example for other associates. Maintain a flexible work schedule and adhere to the requirement of working any designated shift and overtime as requested per business and operational needs. Provide high quality internal and external customer service per company standards. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to work with both technical and administrative personnel. Possess strong organizational skills with a keen ability to prioritize and multi-task with limited supervision. Ability to adhere to and meet deadlines on a regular basis. Possess strong administrative and data management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and Outlook. Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to take initiative and work independently; self-motivated. Ability to raise issues proactively and in a timely manner. Ability to handle sensitive and private information in a professional and confidential manner. Ability to develop leadership skills and assist managers when needed to address employee relations situations. Ability to work closely and effectively with others in a way that promotes teamwork. Ability to be flexible and work with a diverse workforce. Possess a positive and enthusiastic demeanor. Perferred Billingual: Spanish Proficiency Working Conditions: Moderate but varying temperature and humidity in office and warehouse environments. Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand, sit, squat, lift and /or walk for duration of scheduled shift. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree and three to five years of HR experience, or seven (7) years of experience in the HR field, or similar combination of education and experience. Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification preferred. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite. **The schedule for this position will be Saturday, Sunday and Monday supporting standard operational hours from 6a-5p. Your Role at Sephora: The position of Human Resource Specialist supports the Sephora Distribution Center by engaging in a wide variety of human resource activities in various functional areas that may consist of benefits, non-exempt recruitment, employee relations, engagement, safety tracking, workers' compensation liaison, FMLA, Short & Long-Term Disability, payroll, and unemployment claims. The majority of the tasks are administrative in nature but may be complex and require a great depth of knowledge, skills and abilities to resolve and support the operations.
Plan & Align. Collaborates with the management team and HR Partners to support actions aligned to federal, state, and local laws and company policies addressing human resources and employee relation issues. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation on activities to ensure efficiency and compliance. Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law. Assist in maintaining the Human Resource Information System according to established processes and procedures in a timely manner
Engage & Retain. Responding to employees' queries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner. Promotes a positive work environment through the use of good social skills and application of Sephora values. Aligning department objectives with employees and management in designated business units. Formulates partnerships across the HR function and assigned departments to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the objectives of the organization
Drives Results. Track and analyze data to identify employee, candidate, or process gaps and provide recommendations for innovative strategic advantages. Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures and reporting are in compliance. May assist with payroll functions including processing, answering employee questions, and correcting processing errors. Performs other duties as assigned.

We would love to hear from you if you have 2+ years of demonstrable experience in human resources with a High School Diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree or certification in the areas of talent acquisition & recruitment with 2-3 years' experience preferred. Experience developing and delivering communications to various audience levels within the organization Demonstrable depth of expertise and understanding of Sephora principles. Experience in diagnosing, isolating, and resolving complex issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills. Experience leading teams. Successfully model teamwork and demonstrate a collaborative approach when working with staff, associates and management.
