Principle Responsibilities ? Repair and inspect Mountain/BMX bike fleet for program utilization
? Imparts useful bike care and maintenance knowledge
? Order materials needed to keep program running safely
? Monitor inventory of spare parts and repair equipment
? Maintain an inspected, safe, clean, neat, organized repair shop/area
? Insure proper use, security and care of repair parts and repair equipment
? Assist in the set up and takedown of the SBR mountain bike shop and other facilities
? Other duties or projects as assigned by SBR leadership
? Abide by policies and procedure outlined in the SBR staff handbook
Qualifications & Training ? 18 years of age or older
? Required: entry level bike mechanic certification or bike shop mechanic experience
? Preferred: Experience maintaining / operating an organized shop
? Good organizational and communication skills
? Ability to use Microsoft Teams daily for work related communication and coordination
? Be or become a registered member of the Boy Scouts of America
Performance Results ? Completes contract period with 2-4 positive experiences
? Receive one or more Staff Appreciation Cards from staff or participants
? Contribute at least one improvement to Bike Mechanic operations or Biking program
? Provide at least one memorable moment that matters to a participant
Physical Requirements ? Up to 8 hours a day of either standing, walking, hiking, and the ability to lift 70 lbs.
