Responsibilities
• Assemble, fill, and decorate bakery items• Follow standard procedures for building and icing cakes• Maintain product quality and rotation• Merchandise and showcase products• Provide guidance and support to apprentices• Create special order cake designs• Provide excellent customer service• Maintain cleanliness and safety standards• Perform opening, mid, and closing duties• Perform other assigned duties
Requirements
• Efficient cake and pastry decorating skills• Understanding of color theory• Ability to use various icings• Follow recipes and procedures• Time management and organization skills• Knife handling and equipment safety• Basic math skills• Strong communication and teamwork skills• Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment• Minimum 6-12 months retail or restaurant experience• Completion of training program or equivalent experience• Prior experience in a professional bakery or grocery retail preferred• Physical requirements and ability to work flexible schedule
