Department Summary
The Digital Spaces department manages physical and virtual classrooms, specialized learning environments, live events venues, digital signage, and other learning environments (e.g., conference spaces). Oversees that they are suitably equipped and functional to meet the needs of the educational experience. Oversees the installation and long-term management of displays technologies (e.g., screens) across campus.
Position Summary
The AV Sales Manager will serve an essential role as the customer liaison between the ITS Event Services team and UCLA internal and external customers including the Housing & Hospitality Teams, Residential Life, Events & Transportation, Central ITS, and other stakeholders as necessary. The AV Sales Manager will document customer needs and provide pricing quotes and event specifications in order to ensure a successful and profitable delivery of service. The AV Sales Manager will serve as the onsite representative for customer needs during live events, in coordination with the UCLA event sales teams, Technical Project Engineer, Supervisor, Event Services, and third-party vendors in order to ensure all requirements are delivered as scoped. The AV Sales Manager will positively impact UCLA's operations and culture by enabling University stakeholders to effectively leverage data and insights in service of the institution's academic mission. This team member will advance the University's mission by delivering exceptional information technology services comprehensively and consistently across faculty, staff, and students. This role will execute UCLA's vision while modeling UCLA's culture and values.
Salary & Compensation
*UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Salary offers at the top of the range are not common. Qualifications Three years Experience working in one or more of the following fields: event production, hospitality, sales, project management, information technology, AV/IT, IT service management, or a related field. (Required) Five or more years Experience working in one or more of the following fields: event production, hospitality, sales, project management, information technology, AV/IT, IT service management. (Preferred) Experience in complex higher education environments, serving academic and administrative functions of a large public university. (Preferred) Thorough knowledge of live event management and hospitality sales principles, theories, and concepts. Ability to anticipate and assess customer needs for live event audiovisual products and develop plans/pricing to meet those needs. (Required) Proven ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced sales office environment with a profitable sales record. Demonstrated capacity to anticipate obstacles, plan for contingencies, pay attention to details, determine relevance, and prioritize tasks. (Required) Knowledge of sales techniques, marketing strategies, and customer relationship management best practices. Demonstrated competency in selecting and implementing event management methods and techniques. (Required) Broad knowledge of technology-related initiatives and an understanding of impact to the organization of such initiatives. (Required) Knowledge of AV/IT services and technology and ability to partner with industry leaders to assess and meet customer needs. (Required) Strong written and verbal communication skills and is able to communicate technical information and ideas to a diverse community of colleagues and stakeholders. (Required) Able to establish and advance positive working relationships and a strong rapport with team members, stakeholders, and customers. (Required) Strong organizational skills and is able to balance competing priorities and support concurrent projects. Ability to work in a project-based environment using project management practices. (Required) Strong demonstrated problem-solving skills; scopes solutions based on knowledge of available resources and timelines. Able to ask questions, gather information, evaluate options, and make decisions with integrity. (Required) Able to participate in activities to advance an inclusive environment that values equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging. (Required) Thinks creatively and proposes innovative ideas, including the incorporation of new technologies or processes. Is able to work with agility in a fast-paced environment. (Required)
Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations Bachelor's Degree Information technology, computer science, public administration, business administration, communications, or a related field, or equivalent combination of experience/training. (Required) Bachelor's Degree Information technology, computer science, public administration, business administration, communications. (Preferred) PgMP, PfMP, Agile Scrum, LEAN Six Sigma, ITIL, and/or OCM certification (Preferred) Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) (Preferred)
Special Conditions for Employment This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that includes regular visits to campus as needed (for those who work remotely, travel/lodging expenses are not eligible for reimbursement).
The anticipated pay range for this position is $84,563-$94,266, annually; salary is dependent upon the skills and experience of the selected finalist.
