Department/Organization: 507302 - Automotive Services
Normal Work Schedule:  Monday - Friday 7:00am to 4:00pm; including some nights/weekends

Job Summary:  The Automotive Service Manager coordinates activities involved in the operations, maintenance, parts/inventory, accurate record keeping and customer service of Automotive Services.
Additional Department Summary:  This position is responsible for directing and coordinating all activities involved in the operations, maintenance, parts/inventory, accurate record keeping and customer service while reporting to the Director of Automotive Services. Evaluates cost of maintenance. Reviews work orders and jobs for accuracy, timely, and safe upkeep of vehicles on campus. Ensures the equipment, garage, and storage facilities are clean, maintained, and inspections current (including specialty vehicles on campus) to prevent operational delays in repairing vehicles/equipment. Interviews, hires, and trains employees. Assigns, plans, and directs work schedule of staff. Ensures that service personnel work in accordance with organization's policies and length of time to complete jobs. Works with customers to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity in repair and maintenance services.
Required Minimum Qualifications:  High school diploma or GED and six (6) years of experience in the automotive repair industry; OR associate's degree and four (4) years of experience in the automotive repair industry; OR bachelor's degree and two (2) year of experience in the automotive repair industry.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions. Must possess a Class B CDL or have the ability to obtain one within six months of the date of hire.
Final candidates who are not current University employees must submit to and successfully pass a post-offer drug screen. A prior conviction reported as a result of the background investigation DOES NOT automatically disqualify a candidate from consideration for this position.
