Job Summary

As a Data Governance Project Lead, you will manage a team that develops and deploys information management processes and procedures, supporting the Business Intelligence and all Commercial Sales, Analytics, and Operations. You will be responsible for leading and facilitating both strategic and tactical initiative within a matrix environment. The role inherently requires a lot of collaboration and developing and leveraging of strong interpersonal relationships internally, and serve as the key liaison between technical and functional data roles.

Essential Functions
Build effective coalitions with key stakeholders at various levels across organizations in a matrixed environment, leading to better alignment and faster business value delivery
Build and manage integrated program plans and execute them such that they can accommodate evolving ideas and discovery of new requirements to maximize business value
Active engagement with leadership from business case development through program/ Projects delivery and business outcomes
Provide oversight to assigned project/ program management resource or leads large complex initiatives, collaborating with business leadership and managing program delivery across internal IT, third party vendors, and service providers
Maintain adequate domain knowledge of the business objectives to ensure maximum value realization
Provide support in program operations including budgeting / forecasting, financial reconciliation, vendor management, and procurement
Engage and energize the program teams to ensure optimal performance and proactively remove obstacles to drive project/program momentum and progress.
Provide as a point of escalation for all constituents of the portfolio
Proactively manage risks and provide optimal performance / throughput
Holistic project monitoring, controls, team integration, change integration, and corrective action as needed. Ensure the application of Project Management best practices and company SDLC standards in managing the project as appropriate.
Create and maintain Data Governance repository for all documentation including business rules, metric definitions, dashboard design, data inventory, data issue and resolution and all other data related documentation.
Continuously educate business partners on content in data governance portal and how to utilize data resources.
Facilitate team meetings and communications, including presentations, schedules, agendas, minutes, action items, memos, presentations and other documents.
Meet financial objectives by forecasting cost plans; contribute to the preparation of the portfolio budget.

Requirements
Minimum Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, data science, mathematics, statistics, economics, engineering, or a related business or quantitative discipline (Master's degree preferred)
Strong data governance project management background, with deep knowledge of data quality management, data integration or data management
Proficiency with data management or metadata management technology products
Working knowledge of databases and database structures to enable articulating data concepts between business-focused, functional, and technical data users
Ability to evaluate business requirements and recommend solutions in the form of products and services
Experience with leading business process reengineering and business process assessment
Experience with leading and/or supporting data operations teams
Ability to work effectively in teams of technical and non-technical individuals
Skill and comfort working in a rapidly changing environment with dynamic objectives and iteration with users
Demonstrated ability to continuously learn, work independently, and make decisions with minimal supervision
Proven track-record of strong customer communications including feedback gathering, execution updates, and troubleshooting
Strong program and project management experience with proven track-record of leading cross-functional IT/Business transformation programs preferably in life sciences industry
Must be PMP or should have formal Project Management training
Demonstrated ability to lead and influence without direct authority, managing stakeholder expectations at all levels in a matrixed global environment
Demonstrated ability to manage and/or oversee multiple, simultaneous projects and programs
Experience with managing projects across predictive and adaptive methodologies e.g. Agile and Waterfall. Experience with managing work across multiple vendors, resolving issues ensuring execution excellence
Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate and collaborate with employees and management at all levels
Strong facilitation and meeting management skills; Strong communicator via all media collaboration technologies (SharePoint, Skype, etc.) and presentations written, emails, verbal with a wide variety of audiences
Demonstrated ability to use structured problem solving and available tools to quickly evaluate problems, identify root causes, create action plans, assess impact and develop resolution options
