In this role you will be responsible for providing general athletic training services for the NMC Orthopedic & Sports Specialists Clinic and fulfills external Athletic Trainer contracts.

Evaluate athlete's readiness to play and provide participation clearances when necessary and warranted. Care for athletic injuries, using approved physical therapy equipment or techniques Conduct an initial assessment of an athlete's injury or illness to provide emergency or continued care and to determine whether they should be referred to physicians for definitive diagnosis Assess the progress of recovering athletes to coaches or physicians Perform general administrative tasks, such as keeping records or writing reports Responsible for following all OSHA guidelines when handling blood or body fluids Documentation of referral into the Orthopaedics Initiate relationships and contracts as appropriate with local high school and colleges Education and experience:
Bachelor's degree in health, wellness or exercise related field (e.g., Exercise Science, Athletic Training, Kinesiotherapy, Nutrition, Health Promotions or Allied Health equivalent) is preferred. Proper certification/licensure at time of employment (e.g., certified Athletic Trainer, Kinesiologist, Exercise Physiologist, Physical Therapy Assistant, Occupational Therapy Assistant or similar). 1-2 years of applied work experience in industrial or clinical settings preferred. Client service experience preferred. Licensure and certifications:
Active Kansas Board of Healing Art License in Athletic Training & BOC Certified Athletic Trainer.
