ABOUT OBC WINE PROJECT After decades of brewing award-winning craft beer, Odell Brewing ventured into a new category with the launch of a wine project. Dedicated to the exploration of unique flavor profiles in the world of wine, this project was born out of the brewery's shared passion for the art of winemaking. The wine cellar and tasting room are located on a property adjacent to the Fort Collins brewery. We make, package, and serve wine on tap, in cans and bottles, with distribution in several neighboring states and throughout Colorado. POSITION SUMMARY The Assistant General Manager (AGM) is accountable to support the General Manager (GM) with daily operations, effective team management, and the delivery of exceptional guest experiences for both of the Fort Collins Taprooms. This role will work closely with the Taproom Team to successfully accomplish and implement goals and initiatives. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Team Development/Management Effective scheduling of taproom co-workers Accountable to be present and available during busiest taproom hours, including nights, weekends, and special events Work side by side with taproom co-workers as bartender, bar back and/or on register as needed Time card approvals Educate co-workers: brewing and wine knowledge, beer and wine styles, beer and wine presentation and quality; hospitality and company history; merchandise display; pricing and availability, brewery tour program and special events Assist GM with performance management of team Creates and cultivates an inclusive environment for all guests, co-workers, and the community Leadership Engagement Support charitable outreach commitment and engage with the Outreach Coordinator or Charitable Committee regularly Support Marketing Team: educate customers about the winery and brewery's story and values through knowledgeable interactions and tastings; engage in Social Media Maintain safe, healthy and sustainable taproom environment: establish, follow, and enforce sanitation standards and procedures; comply with health and legal regulations and observe brewery and winery safety and sustainability practices. Attends regularly scheduled meetings with Taproom Team Enhanced Guest Experience Exceed customer expectations of Odell Brewing to create a bond that reinforces the brand position and brand strategy: serve and sell alcohol responsibly; consistently offer friendly, informed and personal customer service; evaluate, monitor and improve service in tap room, tours and overall brewery visitor experience; build relationships with customers; coordinate the décor and cleanliness of the tap room; maintain a welcoming, exciting, inclusive, educational, and fun visitor experience Provide event coordination and logistics: review opportunities and respond to inquiries; assist with site management of staffing, rentals, security, parking, food vendors etc. Monitor and manage capacity limits Ensure appropriate ambiance Handles delicate or difficult guest situations including, complaints, negative reviews, and ensures resolution Daily Operations Manages Point of Sale System - regular maintenance, creating buttons, pricing, identifier codes, and untapped alignment Proactively manage and drive event and space rentals Assists with end of month inventory Assists in checking and responding to @cheers emails Manages Commerce7 and Wine Club Ensure beer quality: manage tap room draft system, refrigeration, beer and wine inventory and cleanliness of glassware and bar; educate staff on pouring, presentation and quality of beer Manage team line cleaning duties Ordering and managing taproom supplies Manage inventory in conjunction with the Merchandise Lead Manage/coordinate all VIP requests Coordinates janitorial services and all outside services needed Approve all invoices and PO's Profitable Growth Works with the Taproom Team to build and manage budgets to achieve P&L goals: develop and implement strategies to increase average transaction; maintain margin goals for merchandise and beer; analyze trends and variances on beer, food and merchandise to forecast inventory needs and meet sales goals; manage daily reconciliation Social Media Support Develop & share content through our social media channels that reflect Taproom happenings and overall vibe Engage with social media audience & answer questions as needed Collaborate with Marketing Team and General Manager to ensure alignment on initiatives, objectives and goals Strategic Input Provide and engage in strategic planning as related to beer and wine releases, events, marketing, innovative ideas Continuously look for ways to improve processes, enhance business operations, profitability, guest experience, and/or co-worker engagement EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED Must be at least 21 years of age Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience 2 yrs minimum bar/restaurant, Brewery/winery, retail management experience at large venues to include purchasing, inventory controls, marketing, budgetary controls, leadership and process improvement TIPS certification required or acquired within 3 months of hire Advanced knowledge and experience with Restaurant POS System (Aloha Preferred); Knowledge of MS Office and Adobe Illustrator Experience with strategic planning, verbal communication, customer focus, management proficiency, managing profitability and quality focus Must be available to work high volume shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed This position requires flexibility and willingness to complete other duties, not listed above, as assigned PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Ability to work long hours on your feet Ability to move and/or lift up to 75lbs Ability to remain focused and level-headed under demanding situations Note: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. COMPENSATION The pay range for this position is: $55,000-$60,000 Wage information is provided in compliance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act and is Odell's good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation range and benefits offered for this position. The compensation offered to the successful applicant may vary based on factors including experience, skills, education, location, or other position-related reasons.
